Winter Weather

We're in the midst of a snowstorm - supposed to get 12+ plus through Sunday night - what's the weather like where YOU live?

Today it's 68 and drizzly... And then it's supposed to be in the 50s most of the week... Last week it was high 70s all week. And my husband wonders why my headaches have been so bad! Crazy TX weather ;)

It's been snowing here in Pittsburgh all day. All weekend. Supposed to snow tomorrow.

We didn't get any snow here until January, but I think we're making up for it now. I've had enough. Just booked two weeks vacation in Florida, but too bad we can't go until May.

We are in the midst of the storm. It's been snowing all day but right now it is blowing and snowing so hard! It's falling at about 5 cm an hour at this point. They are saying we will get over 30cm (a foot) and it will be a challenge driving in the morning as it will still be blowing and snowing. I'm assuming we will have our first snow day in 2 years here. I'm in Ontario, Canada.

It has been snowing and blowing all day here - I am not sure how much we have gotten, but I can't open the front door because of the drift. Hubby is supposed to go to work in a few hours, but I don't think he will be able to get out of the driveway.
This is the 1st major storm we've had this year - and I do hope it's the last. At least it is February and not December!

Donna, a Florida vacation sounds wonderful!! I hope the months go quickly for you so you can go enjoy the wonderful weather there!

Ummm...I'm in Florida. We've had a chilly week. Heater at night, plus electric blanket. Then daytime pretty good.
i cannot imagine the snows I see forecasted on the Today Show.

Well, school has already been called off for my school tomorrow.... still waiting to hear about the boys' school. We're supposed to get about a foot, following on the heels of the storm last Monday into Tuesday that dumped 2 feet on us. Tomorrow will be our third snow day..... *sigh*

It's been cold and snowing all day. School has been canceled for tomorrow. I guess we probably have about 12 inches on the ground now, but a few of those were already there from earlier this week.

I'm in Fort Worth, Texas, and it's just beautiful. It gets cold - well, down to freezing, but for the most part that's it. We even had shorts weather last week up to 80 degrees. I feel so bad for so many of you with the hard winter you're having. Staying home from school isn't such a bad thing though. I enjoyed days like that when I was teaching.

You're so right, Kathryn.... I don't mind the staying home part. It's the shoveling part that I'm not partial to.... along with making up the days in June. :)

Yikes on all the snow y'all are hammered with! I love the Today show each morning, yet always worry where poor Dylan Dwyer will be. I feel like her mother...
We have 60% rain for today [it hasn't yet] and getting colder. High of 70 less for tomorrow.

Stay safe!

It's sunny out today... But windy and currently 37. My oldest told his Daddy he was "sick" this morning, but they are currently running around the living room stabbing each other with their toy lightsabers, so i think he's fine. Too bad it's so cold, or I'd make them go play in the sunshine!!

We've been lucky for a pretty "mild" winter compared to last yaer. Besides the 14+" we got dumped on in November, we haven't had too many big snowstorms. Up until this week, its been decent where the kids can actually play outside (well that and I think the 1st week in Jan was cold!) Been 15-20 which for WI is amazing! Today tho, at 10am its still -5* (yes below zero!) brrr!

Well another snowy and messy commute for me this morning...after our "snovember" storm which dumped 8 feet on us during the course of 3 days seems to have set a new precedent for "snow days". We got quite the accumulation and after NOT cancelling school this morning (which any other year would have happened) my kids trudged off to the bus stop climbing over a 3' apron of snow in the driveway and stood out in 10˚ waiting for the delayed buses to arrive... grumble...

Buffalo NY...land of lake effect...

Here in northern Sweden it's been snowing every day and night for a week now. We've got about 3 feet of new snow upon the old one. We have a snowblower that just broke down, so I guess we will have to stay at home. Fortunately we have power and food in the freezers. Just got some nice reindeer meat from a neighbour.

cRight now in VA it's COLD! Too cold for this Fl girl who is counting down until I get to move back at the end of March. I will take our hot summers over snow in the winter any day!

Can't relate to 8' of snow, but totally agree with the fact that days that we normally would have cancelled, we've been in school this year. The bizarre thing is that up until 2 weeks ago, we had barely any snow. You could see the grass! These last 2 weeks have been brutal, with more on the way (up to 2' more!) from Sunday through Tuesday. UNCLE!

It's currently snowing here again. Supposed to get 10 more cm today and tomorrow. I think we are getting our entire winter in one month!!! Tricky gal that mother nature.

True, all that snow has to get old fast! Keep in mind, around here, our school system builds "hurricane days" into the calendar the way other systems will do "snow days." And when those hurricane days get used, it's bad!!

I am a winter-driving wimp: I put a car in a ditch in a snowstorm a few years before I had kids and I've been skittish about it ever since, especially when they're with me. So when we get fresh snow or - like today - the dreaded "wintry mix," I cancel and back out of all their activities. I feel awful about it but it's usually just once in a while that the timing is just too bad for me to drive in it. We got the big snow last Sunday-to-Monday, another sizable mid-week snow, and now all the weather reports are saying we're getting another one tonight! Enough already!

We got another storm yesterday into today, with not a huge accumulation but constant snow flurries all day, and into tomorrow. The roads are bad. My backroad is ridiculously narrow, as it's really only wide enough to use a regular truck with plow. I nearly got stuck on it today AFTER it was plowed. Good Lord... enough already! At least I didn't have school today, but the boys did... hence the reason I was out and about. I let them sleep in after a weekend full of Mary Poppins performances. We're all exhausted.... but for good reason! :)

Winter....what winter...we don't seem to be having much of a winter here in NorCal. I wore sandles to work today. It is cold at night but it is going to be almost 70 this weekend! I am loving it...but I guess we are in a drought or something..hahaha. I keep saying..I know we need some snow pack and rain, but I like this weather better! haha

Dislike on purpose Lori, as I feel your freeze...Not totally but in a spirit of I cannot imagine!
I watch the Today show and I see the weather...OMG-I cannot fathom any...I was a child in NJ when we left...
Florida ever since.

We went to the beach today..It was chilly, wind and 64.

Those tootsies are SO cute!!!!!

Today it is bitterly cold here - and windy. I keep telling myself it will be over soon!

We're due for another 1-2 feet over the weekend! Un-freaking-believable! I want to crawl in a hole and come out when all this is melted!

Today and tomorrow are going to be -33 with the wind chill. Right now with NO wind, it's currently -28 C. New record for us!

Dislike on purpose Trace.. that is just... well "wrong"!!!!!!
Y'all come visit Florida.
