Who uses templates?

I'm a huge fan of templates, but I also love to change them and customize them to each unique layout. I have all of my templates organized by designer (so I can easily give them credit), but would be interested to learn how others organize their templates to find the perfect one easily. :)

I'm happy to read that I'm not the only one who is template-addict. Love Love them... Maybe too much.... If I don't use a template, yes yes, sometimes it happens I use.... a sketch.... ha ha ha.... Template / sketch, it's the same, isn't it ?
well, i need something to begin my page, I'm affraid by the white page. But you will say, you're a C&S girl, how can you be affraid by a white page ? I know... I'm crazy...

I have all of my templates in the one folder, they sort automatically in alphabetical order. Then I keep a separate folder for just the preview of each template also sorted in alphabetical order. When I need a template, I browse through the preview folder to find what I want then go to the template folder to get it. As I acquire more templates (as one does:))I expect I will rearrange things, maybe into folders for 1 photo 2 photos etc.

I love using templates. I have them all in one big folder. I name them with the number of photo spots, designer's name, and template name.

For example: I have four templates from Dear Friends Designs called And 5, 6, 7, 8! and each has a different amount of photo spots.

I will name them like this: 05_DFD_And5678 (has 5 photo spots), 06_DFD_And5678 (has 6 photo spots) and so on...

This really works for me since I'm usually looking for a template with a specific number of photos spots. :)

That's a great idea....I may have to give that a try!!

I use templates quite often. While I can, and do, scrap without them, I do use them the majority (say 80% or so) of the time. They can help me get started when I don't know where to begin, when I don't have as much time as I would need to create something from scratch, or when I'm trying a style that's not a natural one for me - for example, for creating more "artistic" pages or pages with a lot of blending. I'll often keep the paper layers and photo layers of a template intact, but move around elements and such to accommodate my photos or the story I'm trying to tell.

When I started digital scrapbooking, I found clustering challenging, templates helped me get the feel for how to create attractive clusters.
