We don't do Halloween in any big way here in Australia, and we as a family don't do it at all. I always have something on hand in case some kids come around on the night but it is rare that that happens. However on the topic of eating everything, I love love icecream and if I have some in the house I know I am going to eat it all, so I might as well eat it all now then I wont have to worry about it tomorrow, right?? SO in order to save my hips from wearing it, I buy the cheapest brand of icecream that I don't like. It is available then to family or visitors if needed but I leave it alone
Speaking of not doing Halloween, quite a few years ago on Halloween night, I was out for the evening. When I got home, hubby was in an outraged state...He said that a group of kids came to the door asking for sweets!! He sent them packing. He was most embarrassed when I told him about it being a Halloween tradition!! Its a wonder we didn't have eggs thrown at the windows
