When Your on the Road....

Every time I take a road trip that is more than a two hour drive, I have my classic car snack. It's a bag of Gardetto's. Of course I get the reduced fat.... LOL. Actually I think the reduced fat has a better flavor.

And for my beverage choice, a bottle of water.

What do you tend to eat/drink on your road trips?

Ooooh those are so good! I haven't had Gardetto's in years!

I always way overpack snacks for trips. We usually take cheerios, crackers, or grapes- stuff that's easy for the driver to eat one-handed and not too messy. Don't ever bring bananas if your car is going to be in the heat a long time- they will explode, LOL.

I can't seem to make a car trip over 2 hours without some beef jerky! I only really eat beef jerky at Christmas time, because my mother still gives everyone a stocking that includes it, and on car trips. Water is what we all drink. No sticky drinks in the car ever!

BOTH of those are good staples - Gardettos and Beef Jerky - another kick we've been on for our trips to Chicago when my hubby goes for work, are Pizza Combos - soo awful for you, but so yummy!!

And water :D

I love those toffee covered peanuts. But lately my son's allergies seem to be more sensitive, so I've been chomping on Doritos- cool ranch. And Starbucks.

I've never heard of Gardettos...they kind of look like Chex Mix. When we take road trips, we always take snacks - usually chips for the boys and unroasted almonds for me. To drink we always have water bottles in the car, but a trenta unsweeted green iced tea from Starbucks is my non-water go to!

For me, usually popcorn or trail mix (has to be Kirklands from Costco). Kids usually take Bear paws or Goldfish. I take flavoured water (which I do myself with the drops lol) and the kids usually take juice boxes or milkshakes.

Dh won't snack but he will stop for fries. lol

Carrot sticks and tootle roll pops. Weird combination, but it works. I usually pack sandwiches and fruit, maybe some cheese.

Pringles and coke. And maybe some twizzlers. And little Debbie nutty bars. We have a snack bag. You never know what you will have a taste for.

I tend to not snack in the car; I do bring water along and sip on that. If it's a day trip then I bring something that I've made myself - I don't eat processed foods at all so I'll bring my own granola, muffins, mini potatoes that have been precooked (they make great snacks with a bit of mustard on them!).
