I love to see what others are having on special days. :)

Me? I am NOT COOKING at ALL over the holiday for the first time in 6 years!!!! :D:36_1_33::36_19_2:

I hosted for 6 years in a row on Christmas day and this year, FIL asked if he could host because DH's brother moved back home from the states in Feb. I was like "oh I'm not....YES YES YES!!!" lol. Boxing day we always go to my brother's place for dinner and gifts for my side. This year he is having the immediate family for gifts and then a bunch of our cousins and aunts and uncles are coming. 30 of us all together!!! My mom is so happy, she hasn't had a big family Christmas like this in a long, long time.

Anyway, at FIL's my SIL and I are bringing a lot of stuff to help out but he's doing the mains. We are having:

Prime Rib
Mashed potatoes
Broccoli and Cauliflower
Turnip
Rolls
Salad
Desserts

During gift opening, we will have shrimp, scallops, cheese trays and fruit and munchies for the kids.

At my brother's we are having:

Smoked turkey and ham
Roasted rosemary potatoes
Roasted brussel sprouts with bacon
Corn
Carrots
Yorkshire puddings (my SIL is British and loves them and makes them with ALL special meals lol)
Salads
Desserts
Rolls and Biscuits

LOL! Our Christmas meal couldn't be any different from yours Trace!! :D

Christmas Eve my siblings are coming over and we're doing having
Tamales,
Enchiladas,
Pinto Beans,
Spanish Rice,
and Desserts (I'm not sure what I'm making yet! lol)

Christmas Day we'll have
Turkey and Ham
Macaroni Salad
Green Bean Casserole
Rolls
Broccoli & Rice
Sweet Potatoes
Antipasto
And who knows what else!! My island will be filled with food :)

Ham
scalloped potatoes
broccoli
corn

We're not going all out because we're doing "big" Christmas dinner on the 3rd when my FIL and MIL come back from her family's camp in Minnesota. :D Plus my husband and I both work the day after and day before Christmas :D less work is perfect for us ;)

OMGoodness! Reading all of your meal plans is making me hungry!!

We're doing Christmas a little different this year...

Tomorrow (12-22):
My daughter & her husband are coming over for dinner because they'll have Christmas morning at home...It's their first Christmas together and they're trying to set their own traditions.
Dinner will be:
Chicken enchiladas
Spanish rice
Beans
Chocolate chip cookies for dessert

Christmas morning:
Tamales
Eggs
Hash browns
Pancakes
Bacon

Christmas afternoon:
Dessert at my Grandpa's house (we usually have dinner there, but at 101 he can't really handle the chaos)

Day after Christmas:
We're ordering BBQ from a restaurant and adding our own sides

So, I have to figure out what hubby, boys & I will have for Christmas dinner at home :)

The dinner you have is pretty good as is! :) I love less work too.

Your Christmas day dinner sounds almost the same! I've never had a tamale though. ;)

You guys are so organized! My mil is planning the dinner but I'm bringing the ham. I assume there will be potatoes, rolls, and some kind of vegetable, but really, who knows?

We had our family Christmas this past Sunday - parents, sisters and their families, cousin, uncle. We had a buffet that started with breakfast foods of bacon, cinnamon rolls, fruits, breads and then it moved into dinner foods with spiral ham with mustard sauce, dinner rolls or bulky rolls to make ham sandwiches, lots of fresh veggies with hummus and dip, olives, pickles, and 2 platters of assorted homemade cookies/fudge/nut clusters (made by moi). We don't do fancy, we do easy with paper plates and all.

Yeah, he's a stubborn old guy!! haha!

You've never had a tamale??!!! Oh no! I'm going to have to figure out a way to get tamales to you!

Love to hear everyone's menus for Christmas! You're making me hungry!!!

Our Polish tradition is a meat-less Christmas Eve dinner...we'll have:
Mushroom Soup with Kluski Noodles
Fried Fish
Cheese and Sauerkraut Pierogies
Steamed Cauliflower with breadcrumbs
And Christmas Cookies for dessert :)

Christmas Day we usually do a breakfast at home...bagels and more cookies :) And then head out to the movies after opening gifts...thinking this year will be Star Wars since the kids and hubby really want to see that. I, on the other hand, will probably be completely lost...oh well...good excuse to eat popcorn! LOL

I do breakfast too. I always make cinnamon buns and its the only time of year i make them. We have those and fruit while opening gifts and then we eat a traditional breakfast after gifts are done.

I get out of cooking again! But Chandler is going to make our Christmas Eve/Aaron's Birthday dinner which will be Prime Rib, Mashed Potatoes, Mac and Cheese and a Yule Log cake (ordered from the french bakery) Our friends we invited are going to bring the Veg so I don't know what that will be. Have no idea what we will do for Christmas dinner but it will probably be left overs.

This is the recipe he uses every year to make the roast and it's Delicious!!!

Unfortunately we are having Taco Christmas courtesy of my SIL (none of us are crazy about the idea) so we will be having ham, taters and etc on Christmas eve. Taco Christmas will be extra interesting for my cousin and her boyfriend who are visiting from England as they don't eat spicy food.

LOL! My aunt's ex-husband always tried to get us to have lasagna or spaghetti for Christmas. We always rejected the idea, but this made me think of that! This could make for some fun scrapbook pages - mixing a Mexican kit with a Christmas kit! ;)
