What skill do you wish you had / want to further develop?

I'm a person who falls in the catagory of "life-long learner." You are never too old to learn something new, and I enjoy pushing myself and learning new skills. That's one of the reasons I love the monthly challenges here.

I'm curious... what skill (scrapbooking, photography, or other) do you wish you had or do you want to better develop? For me, I'd like to get better taking photos. I'm pretty good in Photoshop, but geesh... it takes a lot of time to process photos. If I could capture them "in camera" the first time as I'm taking the photo, it would save me time on the back end (at least in theory).

What's on your list of things to learn?

I would really like to be able to paint scenery paintings. I did once have lessons in watercolour but found that too flat as I am used to texture with the altered arts and card making I used to do.

I want to learn how to use Photoshop more than I do. I am quite good with Photoshop, but I would like to learn to paint in Photoshop and to use the brushes more. I have actually signed up for some classes, but I haven't had time to take them yet.

I would like to be a better photographer, too.

I haven’t taken the time but I would like to learn more about photoshop extractions. I can do extractions but I would like to finesse the technique.

I would love to learn how to use photoshop, I had a course when I took a photography class many moons ago but have lost most of it, same with fine tuning my photography skills.

Thank you all for your feedback! For those of you who use the Adobe Suite of products, have you played with the new filters? There are so many new one-click tools that have been developed. In Adobe Bridge, there is a one-click masking tool for people (that you can narrow down by hair, eyes, teeth, etc.), background, and sky. It works really well.

During the pandemic, Adobe offered their conference online at no charge. Sadly, they're charging for this year. Wah. But maybe they'll release a highlights teaser? If anyone hears of anything, please share! :)

I wish I was faster - in everything. I tend to plod along until I get to the point where it works or I'm happy enough with it.

I am an Affinity Suite user and while over the last couple of years I have learned SO MUCH, I know I am probably still only scratching the surface with what those apps can do. However, I am also aware that much of what it can do is more for artistic designers and I don't really have interest in that area, but would love to learn more techniques that would further enhance my scrapbooking.
Photography, I am an exclusive iPhone camera user and am always looking for tips on how to take better photos.

Jo, I hear you! I have to remind myself that sometimes it's the PROCESS that is why I scrapbook (it's relaxing... or is supposed to be for me... LOL). But then I see how many photos / memories I want to capture and I try to speed myself up. It rarely works! LOL! What's that saying? Enjoy the journey? :D

Kristi, I find myself nodding as I'm reading your post. I've been working with Adobe and PhotoShop for the past 20+ years and I STILL consider myself just a step above a beginner. These apps are so massive, and they keep evolving. Thank goodness, they're making more one-click features... now I just have to remember where to find those one-clicks! LOL!
