What elements do you absolutely have to have in a kit or it's really tough to do a page? For me it's flowers and foliage but I'm broadening my horizons! It's good to stretch ourselves!

yessss solid papers! It's so hard to do a page for me if there are only bold patterns. I especially love solid neutral papers because I like to mat my photos with them.
Flowers are my crutch, but I'm trying to do more LO's without them.

I like to have the "unique" elements in a kit. I feel like flowers and leaves come in every kit, but I tend to buy a kit based on the other unique items in the kit.
I also love me some good word art and splatters of any kind!
And I agree that along with the bold papers, I like some toned-down (not necessarily solid, because I always pull solids from the papers, but more neutral/distressed papers that go with the bolder papers!)
