What makes you open a layout in the gallery?

I have often wondered why some layouts get way more views than others....

What makes you open up a layout from the gallery? Is it the colours? A big picture? The title? The person posting?

And when you have opened it, what makes you comment?
 
Animal / nature themed layouts are my favorites but after that I would say the colors. Sometimes layouts just really pop!
 
I think a lot of the time it is the subject of the page that draws me in for a closer look - mostly nature, scenery, dogs, birds etc.
 
I am a minimalist, so I enjoy seeing others do more with less. That being said, I also love really artsy layouts too. Go figure!
 
Great question! I'm drawn to colors too. If I see a unique design, I'll open it up to see if it's a template that I can buy :) I really love All About Me pages and Project Life pages (probably because I'm nosy, LOL) I love an adorable kid page as much as anyone, but I'm really more drawn to LO's where the scrapper tells her own story.
 
Visually striking layout is always my first draw, more than anything else. I do love seeing other people's travel pictures, though, so that's a solid second place.
 
This thread was an interesting read. I have to admit, it's the overall look of the design. If it is pleasing to the eye, I click. and I try to comment on every one I open.
 
Sometimes it is design impact like color or page design (I love a lot of clustering) or sometimes it is photos that are interesting. If I open up a gallery LO I almost always leave some love. I'm not as proficient as some others at meaningful comments but I try to keep it real and just say what I think. I think everyone appreciates a little LO love so I make sure I visit the gallery often.
 
I need to go to the gallery and take a peek to see what attracts me most. This is an excellent topic.

I'm not sure I can pinpoint it. I like color. I like large and blended. I like the focus on the photos and I like real photos on the page. I can appreciate artistry, but I like what I consider to be a meaningful page.
Well, that's only what I scrap.
Sports definitely catches my eye. As does travel scenic places, and heritage.

It's the style of the page. What's funny is that I tend to click on the same people's layouts - so it's the person most of the time - unknowingly though. LOL

For a while there, I was clicking on just about every dotcomkari and cinderella layout! LOL
 
I am usually drawn by color first. As far as style I want to develop my Art Journaling/Mixed Media skills so I'm on the lookout for for those. Unusual layouts catch my eye. Oh, and cute cats!
