What do you struggle with most on layouts?

I struggle weekly with titles. :blush

I get a great layout design in mind and photos that work so easily and then when it's all done and I think "Ok what to call this?" I get STUMPED every time! LOL..

Unless I find a great quote or saying, I really do suck at making up titles on my own. I am creative, so why can this not happen? :36_19_1:

I am learning more and more as I go too. Been watching lots of tutorials on blending and masks to be able to get those things down pat because when done right, they are stunning!

So, to make me feel a bit better (heh heh), what do YOU struggle with on your layouts?

I don't always title every page. It just depends. Example if I have a series of pages from the same place I might just title the first one.
my biggest struggle is deciding which type of artistry I want for the photos on a page

Oh I hear that too! It's hard to decide simple, grunge, artsy or what sometimes!!! I have a problem with editing, lol, I have to pull back sometimes on adding too much stuff (which is totally funny because when I paper scrapped, I was SO simple - maybe because the stuff was SO expensive? LOL...)

Michelle (Ms. Brad), tried to send you a PM but your box is all full. ;)

I'm with Michi, I don't always title my layouts. Sometimes it just seems like the layout is self-explanatory & doesn't need a "title" other times, I use word art as a title.

I struggle with choosing the "perfect" kit for my pictures! If I wasn't on creative teams, I would probably be so paralyzed trying to pick a kit that I wouldn't get any pages done at all. I have a hard time with 'contests' where I have to choose on my own. LOL! It's pretty sad!

I am with Tammy_ I got a kit and cannot find the perfect photo. Or I have some photos I wanna scrap - and no kit seems to fit..

The kit is what I struggle with, too!!! Once I finally decide on the kit - its the font when journaling!!! It's the fact that I can't make a freakin' decision!!!!! hehe

LOL! yes to all of the above! Deciding on fonts, and titles - I loathe titles - and LOVE when kits come w/ WA I can use as a title :D

Cool site Cindy, thanks for sharing! I struggle with page design and clustering. I LOVE white space, but without a template, I struggle with it looking right. I also hate doing pages with more than 1 photo, because I feel like it gets too busy for my liking...ya know, the white space girl ;)

Ribbons! I struggle with ribbons, specially the long ones or the ones that loop! I never know where to put them!

Great site! I use pinterest if I'm stuck. I have a board that has inspirational sayings and quotes from movies, etc on it and I just gather them all up when I see them. Then when I am stuck, I look on that board and see if anything jumps out at me. :) It works most of the time!

Another title stumper here. I LOVE word art just for that very reason!!

also looking for pictures to match a kit. Most of the time I end up off theme, LOL...

Titles are optional on my LOs. While scrapping my mantra is- if it looks good, do it! And ironically this leads to what I have always struggled with, the fact that some background papers are so pretty that I don't like to "cover them up" with lots of elements or photos.

I forget about titles all the time. I'll finish it, upload it to the gallery and think hmmm... something's missing.... But at that point I figure it doesn't "need" a title. If I do remember to title my pages, they're usually awkward boring titles but that's ok. Forgetting to date my pages is a big annoyance for me too. I don't scrap chronologically but I put them in my books that way and it drives me nuts when I can't remember when something happened.

For me, it's using patterned papers, especially for the background of a page. I always think that I want to use them for the background, but more often than not, I end up using solids. The patterns look too busy or they don't seem to go with the other patterns that I'm using. :(
Thanks for sharing the site for titles, CindyB... :) I sometimes struggle with those too, but I almost always use a title of some sort.

I prefer less busy patterns. While i LOVE plaids, I find them really hard to work with. My philosophy in scrapping is to ALWAYS make sure the photo is the focus. If the photo gets lost in the patterns or fluff, then I have not been successful. I look at pages that have photos that POP. Anything else is just too busy for me. Even "less than perfect photos" have a story that needs to be told. Scrapping is about the story, not the fluff. So using some of the busier papers make my photos get lost sometimes.

I struggle with titles too! And not that this is a true "struggle", I do find myself sticking with the same format - photo always straight on the page - clusters directly around it, with lots of white space. I think I could definitely change things up a lot more than I do!
