What do you pass out on Halloween

Do you give out apples, toothbrushes, pencils, candy? What's in the treat bowl at your house? Do you buy the candy you like so you can enjoy the leftovers or buy what you don't like to avoid eating leftovers!

We haven't given out candy in years. We are out getting candy. When we did, it was candy. I always bought the kind I liked as well.

I try to give something that isn't given at hundreds of other houses. So I don't buy Chocolate bars (you guys say candy bars) or Rockets (your smarties..our smarties are chocolate).

I usually go to Costco and buy big bags of wrapped candy like licorice or wrapped sour keys (if I can find them) One year, we gave out atomic fireballs and they were a huge hit. I also buy tootsie pops or gumballs.

Halloween candy used to be so much more when I was a kid. Nowadays my kids usually get chips and chocolate and that's it.

We are giving out fortune cookies this year! A GIANT box of like 700 is about $8 at the restaurant supply store. Fed up with buying so much candy. Shaking things up this year.

So for years, we have been "that" house. You know, the one when you were a kid and you made sure to go by because it gave out the full-sized candy bars. We also fully decorated, too! Our neighborhood was hoping and we would get over 200 kids each year and usually the parents would come all the way up the walk, too. Of course, you had to come early, because when we ran out, you just got the mini's.
We love Halloween so much and have so much fun decorating the place and fun seeing the kids faces. You can hear them talking as they walk up and as they walk away. It is the best.

This year is a whole new ballgame. Not only did we move to a neighborhood with only 6 hours (what??), no kids except ours (what, what??), but we aren't even going to be here this year. We are taking my tribe to Disneyland for their Mickey's Halloween Party.
