What do you do to relax

I've been so anxious lately. My furbaby isn't doing that great, my Son is a pain at times and I just feel like there isn't enough time in the day. Usually creating hybrid projects is my stress relieve....BUT...in the last few days, that isn't working either. UGH!!!!! :(:(

Does anyone have some good ideas just to relax and not be so wound up?

TIA

Well, I scrap - and if that doesn't work, then I listen to Audio Books. The stories transport me elsewhere and the headphones drown out the sounds of day to day chaos. I pick delightful stories read by people with an English accent.

I grab a good book and escape into it. I tend to ignore what's going on around me so much that my family has to call for me several times, LOL! :D

Reading is my safe place too. I like to sit in a coffee shop or the library and read. At home I generally only read in bed. For many months after the passing of my husband, and for the first time in my life, I could not really lose myself in a book. I could read several chapters and have no idea what I had read. Scrapbooking also could not distract me. I am happy to be enjoying both those hobbies once again.

I scrap, but I have find out lately that doodling and sometimes coloring is very therapeutical. I started a journal, what stressed me more as I couldn't fill it as often as I wanted LOL, I even bought a set to learn lettering, still unopened LOL, so then decided to just doodle, I'm not good at it as I'm not artistic (wish I could do it like those Pinterest pages but so not even close LOL) but I think I'm improving every day and I love how it lets me express myself, express the feelings like when you talk to someone else and feel somehow free, you know what I mean?

Roxana, I love to doodle also. I actually take sermon notes on Sunday in doodled pictures. They are not terribly good, but they will do :)

I'm another one that reads. If I can get a story that really grabs me, I can spend hours just sitting, drinking coffee or tea, and reading the book as I curl up in my lazyboy chair. Another thing I do is get outdoors for a walk, with or without my camera. Getting out in the fresh air really relaxes me, especially if I am hiking around water. I love to sit and stare out at the water, watching the birds and wildlife around.

So sorry Jill. I'm so glad that you are able to enjoy again. Sending lots of hugs!

Walking around the lake and taking photos sounds so peaceful. I would so enjoy this!

Roxana...this sounds therapeutic!! I've been wanting to get one of those hand lettering books. If and when you open yours....let me know if you like it.

I always thought I had a bit of artistic talent until I tried to bullet journal, doodle and artsy lettering. Wonder if those books would help. Would be kinda fun to try. Amazon..........

I crochet, sew, embroidery, scrapbook and finally doing some reading again. I enjoy some TV watching.

I use to crochet quite a bit. I think I might give that a try again. This past weekend I did some painting and that did help a little :)

I do want to learn how to do some of that hand lettering. :)

@oscaralley, sorry you're feeling anxious. Working out is a really good stress reliever. Usually I do this on the treadmill, but when I can I do it outside which just adds to the stress relief.

Lisa, I sure wished this worked for me. I've had fibro since I'm 26...I'll be 50 in 6 mos. They say it's the best thing for fibro but I hurt so bad it's hard to get started. We did get a really good treadmill.....now to put it to use!
