What could we see in your hometown?

So hubby is starting to go a little stir crazy and keeps wanting to plan a trip (even though we're not traveling at this time). However, when we do decide to travel, we're trying to figure out where to go.

If we were to come visit your home town, what should we see/do?

We live in Rossville, Kansas, which is a very small, rural town. Every August, we have a Tall Corn Festival where we celebrate agriculture and all things corn. There's a corn eating contest, a corn spitting contest, a dance, a craft fair, a talent show, and other games and vendors. We don't have any restaurants in our town, so we'd probably just grab a pizza at the local gas station. :D

If we came to where you live, what would you show us? Where would we eat? What would we do? :)

I live in the third largest city in my province 100,000. We would definitely hit the trails along our river valley, it’s our cities nicest feature I think. The nice thing about my city is it’s central in Alberta, a few hours to the west are the Rocky Mountains and national parks. A few hours North or south and you are in major urban centres. Head our southeast and you hit the badlands. Amongst all that is forest, or prairie.

food - hmmm, I’m not even sure which restaurants survived the Covid lockdowns.
i would have to feed you alberta Beef though, maybe some bison.

‘’July has our local fair, with rides, animals, midway, and food.

‘’and our water tower looks like an onion.

I live in the Netherlands, a small village called Lichtenvoorde. It is near the German border in the east of The Netherlands. We have several events during the year but the most important one is our flower parade and fair.
It is held on the second Sunday in September and it's the second largest parade in the world.

Due to Covid the last parade was in 2019. In 2020 and 2021 they made several objects, placed them in our village and made a walking route from one art object to the other. Last year there were more than 30 objects. The route was 6 km long.

We have several restaurants in our village, I would recommend "Kruidt" Great food and lovely wines to go with it.

This is the winning art object in 2020. The seagulls moved around and screamed. You had to be very carefull walking underneath because they really pooped!

I created this page at another site about where I live:

I live in Lynbrook, on Long Island, New York. I'm about 45 minute train ride to New York City. I think everyone knows about the hustle and bustle of the city.
When you are on the island, the beaches are about a 20 minute ride in almost every place.
As far as food, there are an abundance places to eat wherever you go.

That sculpture is hysterical... and how funny that it was so, um.... interactive! LOL!!!

Wow... would love to hike that trail with all the neat things to see! Thanks for playing along! :)

It sounds like you are perfectly located to have your pick of things to do... city or scenery! I've been to the Rocky Mountains (at least the section that is in New Mexico and in Colorado)... so pretty! I have a feeling I'm going to need to explore the northern end! :)
