What are your favourite things about Gingerscraps!

Sugar Cookie : GingerScraps Praise
When I was on the CT at another site (now closed), I remember going to my team one day and saying that I had found the most fabulous site - they were really welcoming and even commented on my layouts from a competing site and said nice things. Years later, here I am. That stuck in my heart like dandelion wishes. I never forgot how warm and fuzzy everyone was here. I see quite a few of my site-mates from DSP (now closed) have come over here and the one thing they all say is how welcome they were made to feel here. I thought I would never scrap online again, but here I am :)

I haven't posted any layouts since November due to an accident, but I am getting to where I think I can scrap again and am looking forward to using my old stash (of which I have tons!) and all the lovely new things I have bought here.

What is YOUR favourite thing?

There are a lot of things I admire about Gingerscraps. Like how welcoming everyone was when I joined a few months ago and how I always get comments on my layouts in the gallery. I love how the designers jump right in and mix with us regular people- it makes me want to buy more from them! :)

Absolutely - There is a great sense of community.

I love that this community has helped me come back to scrapping with all the challenges offered here in the forum
The challenges keep me on my toes & help me step outside my usual scrapping styles & techniques
I also love that at least 1 person offered kind words or encouragement on layouts that are uploaded
I don't get much time to do all I want in here but its always nice to log back in after a few days & see someone has left a comment on a layout.
One other thing I just recently found was the blog & the teaching tips on offer
Well done GS team, love your work xx

I too love the sense of community, something sadly lacking on so many sites now - someone always seems to take the time to comment of pages uploaded and the great sense of welcome. I like, Lynnette, had to stop scapping for a few weeks, my problem was a fractured collarbone :(, talk of withdrawal symptoms!!

GS was the first place where I felt like maybe, possibly, I could actually do this.....the reason being that people were commenting on my layouts. It was so disheartening to not get comments or to see the same people highlighted over and over and over again. I almost quit until I discovered GS.

Totally agree with all replies above.

I started dabbling in digi before there were digi sites or kits for that matter. One had to use tutorials and create their own. I did. But it convinced me, I did not wish to be a designer [too much work!].

I too had former sites [now closed] which I miss the members and designers although many are here <grin>.

GingerScraps IS my digi-home!!

My favorite things about GS? YOU...and YOU...and YOU...and YOU...and all the other YOUs reading the forum day to day.

I don't scrap much, at all (which is quite sad, I know -- and I say all the time that I need to change that, but it is what it is, lol) -- but the friendly faces, the feeling of community, the incredible customers. The love, respect, and appreciation. It's enough to keep many of us designers here year after year. I haven't found anything else like it yet! :)

This thread makes me so happy! I've seen so many digi sites come and go. When I found myself yet again, looking for a new "home" I knew a few things that I really wanted- friendly atmosphere, minimal drama, challenges, and an active community. Bonus points if the owner and site admins post in the forums and galleries. I found all that, and SO much more here at GS. The praise team is amazing, I think they're really the heart of GS. They are some of the first people you interact with when you start posting. That means a lot. The designers are fantastic, so varied in style. There is something here for almost any kind of scrapper. I could go on and on.... :)

Jennifer, I could not agree with you more. When I was on the creative team at a site (since gone down) this was my favourite place to come and post layouts. This was the only site that said nice things and reached out to me as a person. I love the people here. I love that I had something important to say and the owner of the site actually answered me. This isn't just a scrapping site, it is a scrapping home. So glad you are here.

What I love about this place... well, I could go on and on... but my favorite thing by far is how little drama there is here. I love that it is warm and welcoming to all and that there isn't pettiness. Nothing turns me off faster than reading that. I love how people post intriguing questions that make me think, and that everyone is willing to share their knowledge, help out and no matter how little or a lot you embellish everyone is welcome here!

I agree! There are so many things about GS that are totally fabulous - but the lack of drama is so refreshing.
