Hey everyone! 😊

I thought it might be fun to start a little monthly chat thread for all of us fellow TV and movie lovers. I’ll admit it - I’m a pretty avid TV and movie consumer, and I’m always looking for the next great thing to watch! Whether it’s a binge-worthy series, a cozy comfort show, a new movie release, or even an old favorite you’re rewatching for the tenth time, I love hearing what everyone else is enjoying.

So tell me... what are you currently watching this month? 📺🍿

Are you deep into a new series? Watching something that completely surprised you? Rewatching a comfort show you’ve loved forever? Maybe you just saw a movie you can’t stop thinking about. Share it all!

Feel free to include:
  • TV shows you’re currently bingeing
  • Movies you recently watched
  • Hidden gems you think more people should know about
  • Shows or movies you’re excited to start soon
And of course, if you’re looking for something new to watch, this might be a great place to get recommendations from other members too.

If this turns out to be a fun thread and people enjoy chatting about it, I’ll start a new one each month so we can keep the conversation going and keep the recommendations flowing!

Alright, your turn... what are you watching right now? 👀

And one last note, if you find yourself ready to jump into the ongoing chatter thread, looking to grow some new friendships, pop into this thread: Everyday Chatting & Waffling {2026} Let's get to know each other!

I'm currently watching Survivor 50, I LOVE Survivor, I have never missed a season! Any Survivor fans out there? Who is your favorite this season?

I just started a Netflix show called How to Get to Heaven from Belfast, I'm on
episode 5, I'm enjoying it!

Are any of you going to watch the Oscars on March 15? We usually have an Oscar party, I print out ballots and whoever picks the most winners gets a Starbucks gift card. Usually I try to watch all the major nominees, so I can make informed decisions about my votes :) There is a site online that makes printable ballots, I use them every year! If anyone is interested, DM me and I can send you a link.

I think I might watch Hamnet today. Have any of you watched it?
Who are you rooting for the award season?

I have been enjoying watching last year's season of "Professor T"
This show is made in the UK so we do not get to see it here in Australia until the following year or at least 6 months after they see it in the UK.
You can see what the show is about HERE

I love watching the Oscars! I'm watching High Potential on Netflix at the moment - I'm thoroughly enjoying it and am all caught up on season 2 except for the last two episodes which haven't been released here yet.

OMGoodness, well the TV is basically on all the time in the house whether we're watching it or not. Sad... sorta. We say it's to keep the dog company. HAHAHA!

When I get home from work, I listen to Amazon music in my office/crafting room.
Freddy has Fox news on until after dinner and then we watch a myriad of broadcast programs. We love the whole NCIS series, the "Chicagos" (as I call them, Med, Fire, PD), the new Matlock is really great, Eslbeth is a HOOT, and Friday on CBS, Sheriff Country, Fire Country and now Boston Blue, eh... we MISS Blue Bloods so much!

On the weekends, we binge movies on Prime or Netflix or something.

I love watching the Oscars too, but since I'm the only one in the house who sees them, there aren't any big celebration about it. I don't watch many series, actually so few, but I loved Lovers anonymous (2025), and I'm waiting for the second season on Netflix, I loved Normal people and I think I've watched it more than 3 times, and I've read the book a couple of times.
I've watched a lot of movies on this year, I don't know how many I'll end up watching. Last year I watched a total of 1070 different movies, from different genres except horror and halloween (I am Christian).
some movies I've watched so far
- man up (2015)
- Champagne problems (2025)
- Northern Comfort (2023)
- Tolkien (2019)
- sink or swim (2018) is a french movie orig. title Le grand bain
- the mystery of Henri Pick (2019), is a french movie orig. le mystère Henri Pick
- love and lemons (2013) is a swedish movie orig. sma citroner gula
- Rise (orig. title En corps 2022), french movie too.
- the wedding date (2005)
- set it up (2018)
- the leap year (2010)
- holiday breakup (2016)
- coupled up for Christmas (2023)
- off track (2022) is a swedish movie orig. Ur spår
- not without my shrink (2024) is a french movie, orig. title jamais sans mon psy
- Boléro (2024) is a french biographical movie
- anyone but you (2023)
- what Maisie knew (2012)

I binge watch things on Acorn, BritBox and PBS Masterpiece.

Professor T (which Anne-Marie mentioned)
Ludwig (Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous)
Chelsea Detective
McCormick and Dodds
Harry Wild (LOVE this one!)
Patience
Death in Paradise
Madame Blanc Mysteries
My Life is Murder
Brokenwood Mysteries
Miss Fisher Murder Mysteries
and a million more.... I tend to rewatch them over and over when I am scrapping - sort of background noise.

I am a huge Harry Potter fan. I watch the moves over and over and over and over as background noise. I always know what is going on. I listen to them on Audio Book as well. (Jim Dale and currently the Full-Cast versions)

My husband and I are currently binge-watching anything Count of Monte Cristo (which I am also reading). We do this from time to time with movies that have a ton of versions - I have no idea why. We did it with Three Musketeers, Phantom of the Opera and a few others.
We have watched (this last week!)
The 1975 Richard Chamberlain version
The 2026 PBS Series
The 2024 French Mini Series (with subtitles)
The 2004 French version (with subtitles)
The 2002 version with Jim Caviezel

I finished How to Get to Heaven from Belfast yesterday. It was a lot of fun! I loved all the characters and the story was fun too.

I also love documentaries, I watched a disturbing one this morning while I caught up on emails. It left me feeling gross though, so I will probably put on Ted Lasso, in the background while I work, to get my head right. Ted Lasso is one of my all time favorite shows! I absolutely LOVE it!

I love all these big lists!! I'm a big media consumer, so I'm always looking for new things to watch! <3

I am SO GLAD that someone else has HP on as background noise! One of my favorite things while I'm making cards or when I used to scrap! Thanks for making me not feel alone! <3 :ROFLMAO:

We are 100% obsessed with watching "The Pitt" on HBO Max. For one, it is a great show and two; it takes place at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. I always like when shows or movies are set in my hometown of Pittsburgh, so cool to hear them mention local things on the show. And I was a huge ER fan and Noah Wylie has always been on of my favorite actors.

I've heard SO much about that show. I just don't have time. I think I have to add that to my card/scrap-time line-up... Only problem with that is that I'd have to sorta pay attention! :ROFLMAO:

What a fun thread. I don't have the TV on very much. But when I do, I want to watch something upbeat, joyful, or fun. Lately, I have been watching Disney content creators on YouTube (Paging Mr. Morrow, Dapper Danielle). For movies, we have enjoyed streaming K-Pop Demon Hunters. It's extremely well done. I want to watch the latest season of Bridgerton and I saw that Zootopia 2 is now streaming. I also enjoy the Great Baking Show even though I don't bake ever. LOL!

I'm so excited to watch Zootopia2 with my grandkids! I loved the first one!
Season 4 of Bridgerton was great, as always, I finished it and then started is over from season 1 <3

I also have the TV on for background noise. When I do watch it is usually crime shows. My TV is usually fixed on ION. I also watch all the "Chicargos," 991, 991 Nashville, Doc, Grey's Anatomy.
I watch wrestling with my husband and some baseball and football as well.

OKAY!!! I sorta "hate" all y'all who just got me started on THE PITT!

I'm playing in my craft room today and I thought, "what do I wanna have on in the background? well, all these ladies been talkin' The Pitt and I love Noah Wyle." Now you got me hooked......... geez guyz, what have you done to me???

Isn't it so good!!
Every week when we watch it we can't believe an hour has passed, we always find ourselves saying... has it already been an hour?!

So I have been diligently making my way though the Oscar nominated movies.
The big show is today! Headed over to my daughter's house for our annual Oscars party.

I watched "Come See Me in the Good Light" this morning, WOW! I'm speechless. What a powerful movie, story, reality. The documentary is "about terminal cancer", but really it is about love, about life. What a powerful movie. The person at the center of the story is Andrea Gibson, renowned Poet Laureate moving though a terminal cancer diagnosis. Many poems were shown but not in their entirety so I went searching once the doc was over. I found the Instagram account for Andrea Gibson and there was a lot of full poems there. I love reading them, but ever more powerful to hear the author reciting them in their own voice, so I really loved the Instagram videos!
I loved the poem "Goosebumps" here is a link to that poem (but it is also on the authors instagram) : https://davidhusted.com/blogs/1-sleeping-softly-in-this-bed/posts/7294180/poem-of-the-year

OMGosh! I'm just "struggling" to get caught up to now! I don't know when they actually broadcast the current season and I don't know that I want to start watching until I get through what I've missed. Remember when we used to have to wait for summer reruns if we started a series in the middle or God Forbid, missed a show mid-season?!?
So.... I thought that Dana was going to quit at the end of the first season, then she's back. I JUST started season two. Do they explain why she came back? I should be able to catch up pretty quick. Freddy's leaving for a couple days next weekend. HAHAHAHA!

With the freezing cold weather and high winds, it was a good excuse to stay indoors and I was able to finally finish the last season of the Great British Bake Off. That show always makes me smile to see such creative people who truly support each other. The hosts are both comedians and they keep the tensions low and find ways of making the contestants (and myself) laugh. Last night, we started to watch the new season of Bridgeton. It's clear that this season had an increased budget as the costumes are so detailed and gorgeous. We just started the second episode and so far the plot has been very predictable, but we're still enjoying the show. I'm finding that I'm being drawn to programming that is joyful. Let me know if you have any feel-good shows you watch!!

@breoni have you watched Ted Lasso? It is one of my all time favorite shows! I have watched and re-watched it so many times! Any times I'm feeling anxious or just need a pick me up, it is my go-to show! I can't wait for the next season!! <3

@Carla minicooper452 I bet you are almost caught up on The Pitt! It only has 2 seasons up, episode 11 airs tomorrow!

We started Scarpetta, the new show based off of the Patricia Cornwell books. I don't love it, I'm not totally sure why, it just isn't doing it for me. I will finish it, but so far it just is about 3 out of 5 stars for me.
Also stated the show Marshals, it is the Yellowstone spin off, I don't care for it at all! We watched the first 3 episodes and won't be continuing it.

I'm ready for SURVIVOR tonight!! Whoop whoop, it is such a good season so far!

I'm watching Australian Idol, and like you @pagefrocks , I have many teary moments, not just for the sad life stories we hear, but for the joy of a brilliant or moving performance. This show has been going for years, albeit with a few years break in the middle, but I am always gobsmacked by the multitude of talent that is found every year. This year there is a young Dad who is totally dedicated to his young family and it shines through his interviews and performances. On this week's show, he had his little daughter with him during a practice, she sat in the judges chair to watch:) After his live performance the commentator asked him what his daughter would have thought of it..he said probably OK but she likes Johnnie (young rocker contestant) best :D Out of the mouths of babes.

Also watching Australian Survivor, love the challenges, they are so physical!! This year David Genat is hosting, he has been a contestant on 3 Survivor shows and won a heap of money on a Deal or No Deal American show. He is very hunky but, for me, he has yet to settle into the role that Jonothan LaPaglia had for so long.

I was VERY sad when I noticed that Ginger! I am almost caught up.
And I've never watched Ted Lasso myself either... but my church did an entire sermon series with it several years ago. I forgot about that, so I may have to add that to my list too.
I'll also have to try Scarpetta because I've always loved Cornwell books too. I'll let you know.
Wondered about Marshals. We never got into Yellowstone as much as everyone else. I mean, it was something to watch, but we didn't "wait for it" and we are NOT Survivor or pretty much any reality show people. This year looks kinda good though as it's what, FIFTY YEARS!!!

Yes! I have to admit, I was not excited to watch "a show about soccer" at first. But since the actor is from Kansas City and there were soooo many Kansas City references in the show, I got hooked very quickly. I simply adored that entire series!!! Such a positive leadership role model!

@pagefrocks my sister loves Found! I might start that up, looks like something I might like :)

@Jill I have never seen the Australia Survivor, I can't imagine Survivor without Jeff Probst hosting! He is an icon, lol I actually have a Jeff Probst t-shirt in my Etsy shopping cart right now! My niece is going to have a Survivor themed bday party this year, so I think it would be funny to wear a Jeff shirt! :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

@Carla minicooper452 you will have to let me know what you think of Scarpetta, I just can't seem to get into it. I like all the actors, the story is interesting, but for some reason I'm just not connecting with it.

@breoni I always have the hardest time telling people about Ted Lasso when they ask, isn't it a soccer show? LOL I mean, yes... but not really. hahaha. I 'm not a sports fan in general, but Ted Lasso it my favorite show!
