šŸ“ø New Gallery Feature: Upload to Multiple Categories!

Hey scrappy friends! šŸŽ‰

We’ve added a super handy new feature to our gallery, and I think you're going to love it! You can now upload your layout to multiple categories at once! šŸ™Œ This is perfect if your layout fits more than one designer and challenge.

Here’s a quick tutorial to help you use this new feature:

āœ… Uploading to Multiple Categories

  1. Start your layout upload as usual.
  2. When you get to the category selection area, simply:
    • Hold down Command (⌘) on a Mac
    • Or **Control (Ctrl)` on a Windows PC
  3. While holding the key, click on each category you want to include your layout in.
  4. Once you’ve selected all the relevant categories, just click Save.
  5. That’s it! Your layout will now show up in all the categories you selected. šŸŽ‰
Please remember to only include categories that truly apply - don’t place a layout in a designer’s category just because it contains a small element from one of their products. There’s no strict rule here, just use your best judgment. 😊

šŸ”„ Need to Edit Your Categories?

No problem! You can easily update them after uploading.
  1. Go to your layout in the gallery.
  2. Look for the three dots (•••) right above the ā€œMedia Informationā€ box.
(It’s next to the Watch/Unwatch and Bookmark icons.)
  3. Click the three dots and choose ā€œMove media item.ā€
  4. You’ll now see the same category selection screen. You can:
    • Add new categories
    • Remove any that don’t apply
    • Reorganize however you’d like!
  5. Don’t forget to click Save when you’re done.

If you have any questions, feel free to post below!

šŸ› ļø We thoroughly tested this new add-on, but if you run into any bugs, strange behavior, or issues, please let us know so we can fix it right away.

Now go have fun scrapping and uploading your gorgeous creations! 🄰
Happy scrapping!

I do not think I am doing it right so I don't pick a category until I upload my layout? or say I upload to Miss Fish Templates and then try to add the other category that is what I have tried but if is not working out for me I must be doing it wrong???

Hi Linda :)
I'm sorry but I'm not totally sure what you are asking.

Did you watch the video up above?
Nothing has changed with the upload process, now there is just an additional option to include in additional categories :)

If you are still having trouble, can you post some screenshots or so more info. I'm happy to help, I just don't understand where you are having trouble.

I have no idea how I did it dumb luck on my part. Thanks for letting me know it shows up in both categories. :)
Okay If I go to the designers or challenge galleries I am seeing my layouts there but are they suppose to have the same link for all categories or a different one for each gallery or just show up in each gallery but the same link for all of them? Also when I see my layout in my media I see the original designers name but if there a place on that original layout that I should see the other designer or challenge layout I put them in is that listed somewhere?

No matter how many additional categories you select, your layout will have the same link. It will only be listed in the gallery 1 time, but it will be included in all the categories you selected.

The additional categories will not show up on your layout page. I did talk about that in the video. If you can please give it a watch, it should clear up your questions :)

I also talked about moving a layout, that is one way you can see exactly what additional categories you have selected (if you forgot or want to double check).

I missed that in the video I will watch it again because I missed that and might have missed something else ;)

@Windswept when you look at your layout in the gallery you will only see listed the first category you choose. If you happen to edit it then the extra category will be listed but once saved it will go back to just the first category showing.

@GingerScraps When we upload to the gallery the first drop down I cannot find "Member Galleries" ?
It does show up in the next list if I select a designer first.
Is this the only way to add to "Member Galleries" ?

There actually is no need to have the "member galleries" any longer. Every upload will ALWAYS automatically go into "your media" (which is equivalent to the old "members gallery") .
I was going to delete it altogether, but I worry it might end up deleting some peoples layouts since the old platform used that category as a default category.
But you can just ignore that step of including the "member galleries"now. There is no need for it :)

@GingerScraps thankyou for your reply. I now have worked out what to do with uploading my layout for a Random Challenge.
I choose "Your Media" from the left hand list and then "Add Media".

@GingerScraps Ive just had a thought....If I understand correctly every LO you upload, regardless of gallery, defaults to your own media...right? The question is...If you have uploaded your LO to only one single designer's gallery and nowhere else, my assumption is that it will still remain in your own personal media even though that designer may have left the site and her gallery is no longer there....is that correct? I can't check it out in my own gallery because I rarely upload only to a designer's gallery.
