Trouble Posting in Gallery

I'm trying to post in the gallery, but it keeps telling me "exceeds filesize limit". My page is 600 x 600. It's saved as a .jpg. I have PSE 12 and I work on a PC laptop. I've never had this problem. Can anyone help me?

Update: So it's just one of my pages. I did another page and it went through just fine. Does that make any sense?

I get that sometimes and I have to go back and make sure the file size is small enough. I have found that if I go over 247k then it won't upload. Try to upload it again at a smaller size.

I took it down to 246 K and it still wouldn't load. Gosh, this is frustrating! Thanks for your suggestion. If you think of anything else let me know. I'll sure try it.

Maybe try and resize it to 575x575? The gallery guidelines say 450 kb for file size limit which is what I try to shoot for and have never had a problem. Hard to believe 246 won't load. You haven't exceed your limit number of layouts for the day have you? Maybe try logging out of GS and closing down your browser and starting everything up again? I really don't have any other technical suggestions. Another fluke- and please don't let this offend you- but are you sure you are grabbing the correct file to upload? I always have three copies- the PSD/TIF, a high res JPG and then the resized web copy. I always add -web to my gallery copy file name so I can tell which is the file to upload. It will be interesting to hear what you discover once the problem is resolved.

I had that problem when resizing with my old program (it was sized like yours and would give me a huge variance of kb size), so I switched to using Windows Live Photo Gallery to resize with. I open the original full size (jpg) picture and just tell it resize > maximum dimensions > Custom 600. Now it works every time.

Hi guys! It's me again. I'm having the same problem. I tried both of your ideas. Alta, I tried yours. It said it compressed it, but I must be doing something wrong because it's not showing up compressed when I try to upload it in the gallery. Meagan, I tried to download the Windows Live Photo Gallery and for some reason it won't go on my computer. I'm still trying. Anymore suggestions? sorry to be such a pain! :(

Update - I got it figured out! I'm not entirely sure how, but I did it!

I can re-size it for you again so you can get it uploaded but... we do need to find a solution for you so you can upload easier when you want to.
What program do you use to scrap with? Maybe someone here can offer some help if they know about the program you use.

I use PSE 12. I have a PC. I wish I could figure out what I'm doing wrong. It's only happened on two pages. I did end up getting that page loaded by Alta's way. Thank you for offering to help!!
