I've tried twice with my email and password that I've had forever, it stated that it sent a way to get a new password to my email, but I never got the email and I can't log in. Maybe it takes a while to get the email?

The problem was totally on my end. When I started to type my user name, my email address popped up to autofill, so I used that. Took me forever to realize I don't use my email as my user name. Ugh! Sorry.
