I'm am SO excited for school to be over!! I feel like I'm like 10 days away from having my free time quadruple which means, of course, way more scrapping!

We homeschool, so for me, having the kids done with school is like having a summer vacation myself even though I still work (at home transcriptionist and photographer). Even without school stuff, just all the school year activities like dance and AWANA are all finishing up. I'm doing the happy dance over here. :multistars:

How about you?

Yay for you! I remember those days. Now that my "kid" is finishing her junior year of high school and is almost 17 school vacation doesn't mean much of a change for me ;) She'll be working and volunteering and I'll be working my jobs as usual. No less or more free time here .

That's awesome! I have 26.5 more days to go with this year, and I will be SO thankful when it's done. I teach 6th grade, and let's just say that this class has not been my favorite..... lol. Also, I just gave notice at my second job, so I'll be done with that at the end of this month. Summer is going to be short this year, since we have had 7 snow days, but I'm going to make the most of it! Woohoo!

A month from Thursday here. My kid was just doing the math (mental math here) he has 123 hours of school left. I, on the other hand, leave for the start of my vacation in 27 more days. I get to go out to the track a few days early to spend time with my mom and sister. We go out on Monday and my husband and boys come out after school lets out on Thursday. But then my one son leaves for Summer camp on Saturday and my husband leaves on Sunday night to drive down to St. Louis to meet up with the ship / Crew at summer camp.

That sounds like fun!! I'm hardly ever without my husband or kids. Not that I'm complaining about it :) We are getting out/done with school a few days early because we have a homeschool day camp to go to the beginning of June. It's 3 days, and for me it's training, but for the kids, it's a writing day camp, so it counts as school days!

I'm with you here. My youngest is turning 16 in June and a freshman in high school. Summer just means he will be hanging with friends and driving and I will be doing the usual. But one perk is that he is driving so maybe I won't have to run to the store or post office anymore. That translates into more time cuddling the little grandson while he is still cuddling age. Once he figures out how to crawl these cuddles will be gone. :) Only 14 more school days here.

I am so ready for summer! My high school freshman is trying to kill me slowly. She refuses to turn in her work and her grades are all bordering on failing. It makes us insane. My husband and I never fight but this is a contentious topic for our marriage. I want to try tough love and let her fail and have to do summer school but he wants to email teachers and baby her every single day. I don't micromanage. I think life lessons are sometimes learned the hard way. At this age and stage of the game, she needs to finally figure it out because she won't be taking daddy to college (although I am having a hard time envisioning college in her future). The other three kids are good and doing fine but this one child...ugh. June 2 is our last day and then we are off to Belize! Hooray!

Jen, I feel your pain. I have a 16 year old that thinks he knows everything. He's struggling in just one class but every time I mention it he gets all snarky with me.
But then to boot, I have a 20 year old (Adhd) who lost his job back in Feb. and refuses to do anything to get a new job. No matter how much I tell him he needs to get some money saved cause when his brother graduates in 2019, their dad and I are moving and neither of them are moving with us.
Summer can't come soon enough for me.

Mid June for me... My teenager is a seventh grader and this has been the hardest year for us so far. He is a great kid (first and foremost - please don't read my mom rant as any thing other) BUT he has pushed limits this year with homework and grades and I'm just worn out. Can I say I don't care that he's going to get a D in art? Is that allowed at this point? Funny thing is he's sooo stinking talented when it comes to drawing, graphics and such, but an organized art class is hard for him to compute.
