Tell me your scrap folder categories.

I have many folders for all my scrap stuff. I am looking for more. Anyone want to share how they organize? I do it by specific theme.
Small example of how I do mine. I feel like there are some other categories I don't have. I am a kit scrapper so I like it separate.

Wow, that is a great way to do organize! I just have a "GingerScraps" folder with all the kits organized by designer. I keep the original name of the zips for the folders if I can. If I have to rename, I always write "Designer.NameOfKit"- I seem to have no problem remembering who designed what so I can locate what I'm looking for quite easily. As my stash grows, though, I may go to something like what you've got. :)

I do similar to Ane and just have the folders with Designer Names and all their kits in that folder. I also have some copied to folders such as... "Christmas" - "Wedding, Romance" - "Children" - "Nature"

When I organized this way, I structured mine numerically by the months when I used the kits, then extra stuff below that.

So it was

00 Project Life/ Everyday
01 New Years
01 Chinese New Year/ Asian
01 Winter
02 Valentines/ Love
03 St. Patty
03 Spring
06 Beach
06 Father's Day
06 Summer (I had to separate beach and summer because I had so many)
07 4th of July/ Patriotic/ Military
09 School/ Reading/ Office
10 Fall
11 Thanksgiving
12 Christmas

Then regular topics-
Animals/ Pets
Art
Birthday
Boys
Computers/ Tech
Exercise/ Health/ Nutrition
Family
Food/ Cooking
Friendship
Girls
Happiness/ Positivity
Heritage
Home
Medical
Music
Other
Outdoors/ Nature/ Camping
Park Carnival Rides (theme park type kits)
Photography
Places (states, other countries)
Space
Superhero/ Comics
Travel (general travel. This was huge too, so I added the Places folder for specific places)
Weather

This might be overkill for some people, but it reflected our interests pretty well at the time. (Notice I don't have a section for Mother's Day because I don't buy or work with for CT kits that are non-inclusive to step-parents and adopted parents. Which means I have almost none of them. But obviously not everyone is as militant about that as me, LOL)

I organize mine by Designer and Kit Name. When I use multiple kits, I like to use them from the same designer if possible. I do append stuff to the folder name like (Disney) (Christmas) etc. so I can search for them easily. I used to categorize them in a search program, but it was slowing down my system because I have so much and it was not always displaying them, so it is just easier to do it this way.

I organise by Designer_kit name. I have a folder for kits and a folder for templates. I also have a folder for the previews and I scroll through that to choose my kit and/or template. Very basic but works for me. I only buy from/participate in Gingerscraps so don't have to worry about organising by store.

Actually, good point - I do have a store category also. I have all my DSP kits still from before they closed, and they are in their own folder, plus I have purchased a few things from DSP designers at other stores. I can get anything I want here, and get everything I post online here, I like to support my old friends, and sometimes if I need something specific (like cricket!) I might purchase elsewhere.

I have often thought I would like to organize some specific kits (such as Christmas) separately, but I am too lazy...

WAY too lazy.

I have a store category as well but the Gingerscraps store folder is so large and I realize there are kits I've not used and want to use them. So I am looking to move them out.

Oh you are so organized! I have my kits organized by site then designer. The only issue is when I'm looking for something specific, I have to look through all of the folders to find it!

I can't wrap my mind around organizing by designer or shop, but I do note them in my kit names.
For kits that fit with in a theme such as Summer, I have them in a summer folder and then by name of the kit, initials of the designer and initials of the shop. For instance the kit I downloaded for this month's Connie Prince challenge is in my Summer folder and it is named "August 2020 CP GS".
So I have main folders for seasons and holidays, birthday, beach, templates & basics, pet & animals, word art (uness they fit within the other folders) and the rest of the kits which don't fit within one of the main folders just get their own top level folder,
Most of the time the kit title name is enough to jog my memory of what is in the kit, but organizing by designers doesn't do anything to help me find what I am looking for.
I am very visual so the other thing I have done is renamed the kit preview and copied it to the main scrapbook folder so I can just scroll to look at the photos of all of my kits and then can go back to the actual kit folder to look at the rest.
