Summer yet?

Hey ladies just seeing Who's out for summer. My kids have to go til the 27th of this month, Thanks snow days!! It seems so far away and my kids are all getting super antsy about it. My 11 year old just doesn't want to go to school and every morning it's a struggle.

My College kid has his last final tomorrow and then he's done til Mid Sept. I can't believe he is going to be done with his first year of college already! Time flies.

Is anyone else still in school mode?

We get out on the 29th. No added snow days we just go till then. Huge struggle getting my son off every morning too.

Cheyanne has until the 16th. Final exams start on the 13th. She's ready to be done - they have senior march this morning (it's the seniors last day and all the juniors march from the parking lot and meet the seniors in the auditorium and then they march through the school together and the seniors hand the school over to the now rising seniors). It's been a tradition for over 50 years and they get T-shirts with their year on it, etc. All her classes are pretty much in review mode for finals so it's a pretty relaxed week.

That sounds really cool Marie! I love hearing about other schools traditions! Caleb was late to school again today, I think he has over 20 tardies this year. Maybe Mom's worn out too?!

Our schools let out on the 15th. Finals start on the 13th. My son is an odd duck. He's not looking forward to summer at all. Well that's not true. He's looking forward to the first week off because he's going to St. Louis for Boy Scout, Sea Scout and Venture Scout (he's all three) summer camp. After that.. well let's just say he's always been ready to go back to school on July 1st.

My grandkids were done today. Minnesota is supposed to be upper 90's and humid this weekend and our school decided to have an outdoor graduation on the football field this year  so glad I have no one graduating. We're heading to a lake in northern Minnesota for the weekend.:36_1_33:

LOL on Caleb - Cheyanne has been dragging herself out of bed literally 15 minutes before she has to leave and has been scraping into school 1 minute before the bell rings - the teacher for her first class is always late so she hardly gets marked tardy, though she did have 3 in May and got called down for a warning, which mortified her!

Wishing we were done!!! Aaron my 19 year old just finished his finals of his first year of college yesterday. I think he failed his math class. He said he already had a 60% in the class because of a failed Mid-term. I don't understand why my kids won't listen to me when I say "UTILIZE THE MATH LAB AT YOUR SCHOOL! THAT'S WHY IT's THERE!!!" Plus his Dad's been yelling at him to stop playing Video games and STUDY! So now we have to get mean with him I guess and make him either get a job to pay for his falls tuition, force him to only take his General Ed til he's ready to get serious or something. He's been taking his computer/math classes since he wants to be a Programmer. His Dad keeps telling him that if you want to get into the computer science program that you have to WORK hard and have GOOD grades because its so competitive to get into it. Yet for some reason he just doesn't seem to care.....What can you do to make these millennial kids care?!!?

Oh wow. My kiddo has been out since the end of May. We are in GA. They usually get out around that time. This year we didn't have any snow at all. :-( It has been close to 90 F since the end of May too.

I almost see the light at the end of the tunnel! These past couple months have been crazy with...

House remodel
Business trips
2 graduations
2 accidents--- we are all safe :)
Swimming pool problems
Disney trip
and our very last event, next week we will have a big party for the 2 graduations.

I can't wait! I'm exhausted and in need of some major scrap therapy, lol!!

Like La'Shawn, we've been out of school since May 26th. HOWEVER, our schools also return August 7th as most return after Labor Day. So advantage/disadvantage? LOL

We are out but it is too chilly to enjoy the summer activities. I wish we stayed in school longer in June and went back after Labor Day. Our nicest days are in mid-August but going back to school on August 23 is brutal. I hate it.
