Starting from scratch

Hi all
my name is Sam, I am from Australia & I haven't scrapped in a while so I am feeling really rusty.
I am a mum to 5 kids & 2 fur babies & run a sign business with my husband.
I started tagging for members of a crochet group in about 2003 after my first child was born & progressed to making full size & tagger kits for a for sale in a few smaller stores.
I was on a Leigh Penrod's ct for a while & did some ct work for some taggers but due to work had to take some time away from scraps and tags. Hoping to get back into making pages now & then & participating in a few challenges
Love everyone's work I have seen so far & thanks to the scrappers who have contributed to the welcome wagon, it has given me a place to start & let my mojo brew

Thanks you for the welcome, I am just unzipping one of your kits I got yesterday to have a quick peek at on my lunch break & get my creative cap on :)

Hi Sam, welcome! I'm wondering, could you explain exactly what tagging is? I don't understand the difference with just scrapping, and people have asked on groups I'm in, but no one had an answer.

I'm a 15+ year addicted scrapper, I have used Artisan all that time, but am learning PSE now some too.

Hi Lori
After owning my own store that sold both tagger & scrapbook sized items I would hope I could explain a bit better but tagging is really much the same as scrapping only the finished images are made no bigger than 800x800px & are lower resolution for web based use & usually contain an artist image that requires a special license to use & create with. Licenses are free when you register with the artist store usually. Tag are popular in many different forums & range in sizes & are usually given as prizes for games or offered as a who wants one.

The tags are usually made with one design & either have a persons name on it (the maker will usually do a wwo- who wants one offer & people sign up for the tag & get their name on it) other tags have welcome, thank you, hello or some other generic greeting that can be used by anyone as long as the artists & tagger credits remain in place & the tag is not altered. Much the same as scrapping give credit where due :) I've attached a really old tag made by my ct many moons ago
I should also note: that many taggers like to animate their tags as well so that would be the only major difference & hence why they are more for web based graphics

I have been designing for over 20 years as a signmaker & used corel, gimp, illustrator & many others but my favourite for scrap layouts is photoshop & I am still finding my way with each new layout I create
