I scrap mostly so my family will have (in my mind, anyway) amazing albums. I try to use multiple pictures on a page and toss a little art in with it.

When I am browsing the gallery, I often see things that don't look as though they end up in family albums, or if they do, it is a single picture and the albums for a year must be HUGE. I see a lot of 'art' that is done with stock photos and fantasy pictures that look lovely, but I wonder what happens to them afterwards.

I also see loads of art journaling and wonder what is done with that. I have done some and have a book that is just art journaling.

Do you actually print your pages? Do you print books or print pages in books? Do you prefer simple pages that emphasize photos or pages with piles and piles of glorious clusters? I love everything and my books are a hodge podge of crazy phases. Maybe even post some pictures that emphasize your style and say why you like that and why it represents you. I will when I am on the same computer as my layouts haha!
 
Or I could just go to my gallery like a smart person would! This is very much my style - one big picture and multiple little pictures. I like having a nice amount of journaling on the page and some smaller clusters that don't take away from the pictures. I like interesting fonts. This is part of an album I am doing for a recent trip to England, that I will print in a book. Day to day pictures I print the pages and put them in a book. This was done with Kristmess's Small World - UK stuff, which I just love.

 
Here's another one - a different look, but same principle. Big pic, small pic, journaling and a fun title. This is part of an trip, so I will print it in a book when the whole trip is finished. I have quite a few of the pages in my gallery.

And another one - I am a creature of habit. Sometimes, though, I will do a large single page and a companion page with a bunch of pictures on it. This was done with Kristmess "Sew Darn Cute."

 
I am not really sure what my scrapping style is. I love the artsy pages and the art journaling, but when I try, my pages seem a big old mess.
I do make my pages with the intention of printing in albums. I have had several printed so far, but most have been for gifts -- vacations, baby's first year, father's day. I am in the process of organizing all my layouts into the various years, so I can print out my favorites for each year in one album -- I always had that in the back of my mind, but life gets in the way. I am also really bad about making decisions -- do I make a book that has similar colors, or should it have similar style, like an album made with either a photo book template or all the same kit? So I get lost in the details.

I usually have one focal photo or a few in a series if I can't decide what photos from that day I like best.

I scrap a couple of different ways. My personal pages are usually 6+ photos and somewhat minimalistic. The goal for these is for them to go in between my monthly pages whenever they fall during that year.

Then there are my monthly project life pages. These are the generic everyday photos I take throughout the month. Sometimes 2 pages but a lot of times just one.

Occasionally I do layouts with 1-3 photos. Sometimes those are the only pictures I have from an event that I want to remember. Other times it was a challenge/speed scrap that didn't call for more or possibly CT work that I didn't have more photos for or wanted to embellish a bit more to show off the kit better. Sometimes these are to be printed, other times I may keep them for myself to look back through. There are times that some of them don't warrant the cost of printing necessarily but we can view them on our TV in the family room together and it's still fun to see those so I keep them for that reason.

As for photos I almost always use my own photos. Once in a while, if needed for a CT layout, I'll borrow from family but that's not very often.

Hopefully I answered your questions :P I think my style is a bit more traditional and minimalistic than most.
 
Lately it seems as if my style has changed. I used to always cram as many photos as I could on a page, with minimal embellishments. These days, I usually use only 1 or 2 photos, mostly because I don't take as many pictures as I used to. And 2 of my subjects have grown up and moved out, so that is something.

Someday I'm going to get organized and have books printed for each of my kids. But this is going to require going through over 600 pages, which I'm not excited to do! So we'll see if that gets done or not. :D
 
Single page layouts stand out more in the gallery too. I often do a page with a big single picture and a companion page that has a lot more pictures on. I went back and looked at your gallery, Ane, and I see what you mean, although I would not use the word "crammed," more like artfully arranged :) NOW I have your attention, how is your name pronouned? Is it like ANN, AIN, ANNIE? I think in my head, I always say AIN. :)
 
Becki, you have a great scrapping style, great titles, pictures, information and dates. That is what albums are all about, right?
 
I have that same problem, Liz. That is why I end up printing pages rather than books, most of the time, because pages can be rearranged, inserted, fixed, etc. Books - once they are done, they are done! I love your dino pages, by the way, you have done a few lately, very cute!

I think overall, I'm a one large picture scrapper with plenty of clusters and embellishments. But I can also scrap multiple photos, esp when I do PL pages.

Like Ane, I don't take as many everyday pictures as I used to. My photo stream mostly consists of the kids' activities like sports or field trips. But we do love to travel, so I have lots of those pictures.

As for printing, I print out PL pages and put them all in a book, 54 pages! I also print out vacation albums.

For PL and vacation albums, I scrap them chronologically and upload them on FB albums so I can look at them in order, lol..

My name is pronounced like Ann or Anne. Ane is a Danish spelling. I count myself blessed, even with such an odd name- my parents almost named me Annabelle. Yikes.
 
So I need to stop pronouncing you AIN in my head :) Now I know. It feels good to know a person's real name and how to pronounce it properly. Where does AJsRandom come from?

AJsRandom comes from my old designer name, AJ's Random Scraps. When I quit designing, I kept the name, AJsRandom. AJ comes from my initials. :)
 
You are doing an excellent job - your compositions are a pleasure to look at. We have some pretty talented scrappers here.
 
I think my style is mostly traditional, and I like lots of papers and clusters. Sometimes I’ll focus on just one photo, but other times I like to include lots of them, depending on what I’m scrapping. I tend to scrap photos from our various trips and races, lots of photos of our Sphynx cats, photos of holiday celebrations, and then just every day photos. I’m still working on my wedding album and we were married in 2004! No children here (sadly I was never able to conceive due to severe endometriosis) so I scrap everything else in my life. I do scrap lots of photos of me growing up (I’ve been working on an album for my mom of my sister and I growing up for a while - it was interrupted by my scrapping hiatus due to my concussion in October 2017). I typically include journaling, or at least a phrase or quote on my pages, but occasionally I won’t have journaling.

I almost always scrap personal photos. I don’t really understand the people who use stock photos all the time. I do understand using them when they are on a CT and don’t have a personal photo for a given kit’s theme. But to each their own. If people enjoy using stock photos, then if it’s allowed and makes them happy, then clearly it works for them. I scrap to preserve memories and to tell stories, so stock photos only work in certain circumstances (like my “dream squad” for the first week of survivor - I sadly don’t have any personal photos of the actors/characters I scrapped, so stock photos it was!)

I’ve tried experimenting with different styles (i.e. fantasy, art journaling) and I always come back to the “traditional” style.

Caylynn, I love your scrapping style. I think I am pretty traditional, too, although I do like a blended photo every once in a while :-)
 
I think my favourite style is clustering! I love to toss lots of elements on a page and find a place for them lol!!!
Having said that I also like to scrap with lots of layers or lots of artsy elements and doodles or clean and simple!
I guess I like lots of different styles but my one consistent is the less photos the better so I prefer not to attempt pocket style scrapping.......this style stresses me out ...really bad:)

Alanna has always been one of my favorite scrappers!! Gethane too - but I don't know what ever happened to her. She just disappeared one day! :(
 
I know!! There was another lady that just dropped off the face of the earth too. She was in Germany. We wound up Messaging her brother on FB to make sure she was okay!
 
Our scrapbooking group at Digital Scrapbook Place was so close that the family knew to message us if anything happened. I loved that. We also knew each other's contact information - phone numbers, emails, etc. At least those of us who had met in real life - and loads of us had done that. I am hoping at some point to have a Laptop Crop where we can attend and get to know each other better!
