Snow day!

Expecting 8-10 inches today, blowing tomorrow, then -20 windchills Thursday morning. Kids might not have school again until Friday. All the schools were canceled by 6 pm last night (a full 12 hours before the snow began). No metro wants to replay Atlanta's issues.

Much different than here in CA! It's cold, but not like that....brrr, just reading that makes me feel chilly!

I have no idea about cancelled school days, what happens to the missed days? Are they made up in the end?

They build one or two in but then, yep, they get made up at the end. Kid's get out earlier here. Now we're up to a halfday on May 28. The city has already said, though, that snow plows won't get to residential streets until tomorrow and if that's true, that school end date will change.

Sounds familiar.
Noticed you're in KC, and figured out why, hehe

February in this area is notorious for the snows :D

School got cancelled for tomorrow already.
State of Emergency :/
And we're supposed to expect more of this this weekend too :O

School hasn't been cancelled here for tomorrow yet. We have about 5ish? inches on our deck. I measured it at 4.5 inches 40 minutes ago and its still coming down pretty well. Nice to "meet" a fellow snow sufferer in the area :)

We've got full white-out conditions here. They've actually closed the city. Basically only people out are the crazies and the mail carriers (like my husband lol)

Great pics ladies, I wouldn't want to live in it but it sure is pretty!

It's cold here too - we haven't broken 60 today! :D

Western KS here :) same conditions as mentioned above but I'm not complaining! Us farmers need the moisture!!

We went sledding today! I haven't been in a long time! Gethane I am just to the south of you (Clinton)! I looked at a weather map this morning and my area was supposed to have about the most in the viewing area. Yikes!

Sledding! How fun! We just moved back to the Midwest from California in August and haven't yet built up our winter supplies. Sledding supplies is definitely on the list for next year.

Sarah, as I understand the National Weather Service update I got from Facebook, a new band of (unexpected) snow has developed now in south/southwestern Kansas.

And school has now been cancelled for tomorrow as well. If we get that arctic blast of minus teens temperatures, I wouldn't be surprised if they had to cancel Thursday too.

Yeah, they'll probably cancel Thursday. Here, the plows are flipping and getting hit by semis. :what:

Whoa on the snows........ What crazy weather, we were back to 84 again today.

Why yes, I did mean to dislike your posts, both of them! Plows getting hit by semis?! Dislike! 84 degrees?! Dislike! (Or umm, jealous maybe but there's not a button for that!) :D

Here in Okinawa it was 59 yesterday and we were acting like it was below zero, LOL…i don't know what my body will do when/if we move back to snow, I've adapted to the tropical lifestyle:)

So far, winter has skipped us this year! I have not seen a single patch of snow yet and the spring flowers are beginning to show their heads already!
