Sigi Guidlines 2011-2020

Re: Sigi Guidlines 3-2011

ANy restrictions on the content used for the Siggie?
Thanks

Per Ginger's post here:

I want to remind you all of the sigi rules. Give us your info, sport blinkies, feel free to be creative and have fun with your sigi! Keep it tasteful, no images or words you would not show or teach your small children. Please do not link outside shops or sites. You may link your OWN blog, facebook, or newsletter. But NO off site shop linking.

Re: Sigi Guidlines 3-2011

uh-oh...my siggy's too tall. I'll have to shrink it down a bit, I'll get the corrected one up by tomorrow (but will try for today). sorry!

Re: Sigi Guidlines 3-2011

Is there a special way to keep it within those limits. I end up having to make it really small or too big. I end up with 700x343 & any smaller makes it look strange. Otherwise I have to make them so small, that it only has a few elements.

What is the secrete to making them the appropriate size & making them still look good?

I'm new around here and I've never wondered about all these awesome names that show up under posts...lol. Now I know what they are called. How do I begin to make one? It's been great to have this time to explore the forum. It's awesome here!

Re: Sigi Guidlines 3-2011

How do I make my pictures in any forum "active" so I don't have to put a separate link to them? I see others' where, when I hover the cursor over the picture, it changes so I can click on it to get a direct link.

I had help figuring this out. After I post my layout, the cursor is blinking at the lower right corner. But before I save it, I click on the layout and the cursor is no longer visible. Then I go back to the challenge gallery, highlight the URL, then come back and copy it into the (world) link icon. The layout turns blue, I click next to it and the blue tint goes off, then I save it. And, viola!, it's a hot link back to the challenge gallery.

Re: Sigi Guidlines 3-2011

Would someone please tell me how to put my new sigi onto my thingy? I've no idea the correct words or how to put this under each of my posts, I've searched and can't find anything. Thanks for your help! :)

There are a couple of ways to do it Genniejoy. You can upload directly from your gallery, but then it doesn't always show in gallery posts. The second way has a few more steps and you'll need a free Dropbox or Imgur account.

Right above the gray blue strip you'll see the word settings, click on that and it will open a new page where you will see options to edit your avatar, siggy, etc. Take a look at it, send me a message of you'd like more help

Re: Sigi Guidlines 3-2011

Genniejoy, I also struggled a bit at first and then I had a signature in the forum, but not the gallery, but now it shows up everywhere, and you don't need to host your image outside the forum.
Here's a step-by-step of what worked for me.
Firstly, upload your signature image to the gallery here. It needs to be smaller than 500 pixels wide and 180 pixels tall.
Click on the image in the gallery so it opens up, and then right-click on it, and go to "Copy image address"
Go to Settings, at the top right of every forum page. Click on "Edit Signature" on the left.
Scroll down to where it says "Signature Picture" and "Upload Signature Picture". Paste the image address that you copied from your signature into the Option 1 box, then hit Upload. This will ensure your signature shows in the forum, but not in the gallery comments.
If you want it to show in the gallery as well, right click on your signature image (it should be showing on the Edit Signature page now, or you can go back to your gallery and do it there), and choose "Copy Image". Then, go the the box that says "Edit Signature" that looks a little like a comment box in the forum. It will say SIG PIC / SIGPIC in it. Highlight that text, and paste your actual image over it, then click Save Signature.
That's what worked for me, and I hope it does for you too. :)
