Side dishes

Happy Monday, everyone. With Thanksgiving just around the corner, we have been invited to several family dinners throughout the holiday weekend. We will have to drive anywhere from an hour to three hours (one way) for each event. Not a bad drive, but I'm trying to figure out what side dishes I could bring that travel well and don't need to stay hot or cold.

What travel-friendly side dishes have you made that have been successful for family events?

I find that most things travel well, if you pack and stabilize them well enough. But if you want something that won't spill, try rolls. Plus they can be made ahead of time and even frozen. I'll continue wracking my brain.

My family knows that I am not a chef in any sense of the word. In fact, for more casual gatherings, they ask me to bring the paper plates and napkins! LOL!!!! I like the idea of rolls! :)

Maybe dessert will be better. Cookies will stay better.
Dip and chips? Maybe cheese and crackers, cold antipasto (wrapped individually in foil and put in plate on arrival). Stuffing and be reheated easily.
Hope this helped some.

I think we've settled on bringing a cheese and dried fruit tray. That way, we won't need to reheat or keep it super cold. Yay!
