She did it!

My daughter made the school talent show! YAY! She will be singing "How far I'll go" from Moana.
Her audition was last Thursday. They had 38 acts audition and 18 were chose ( [3rd/4th/5th grades])

She is so excited as are we. She has dress rehearsal on Tuesday after school and then the show is Friday May 19th. I will probably be that excited "MOM" who posts pictures and their kids video, but I'll at least come back to this thread and not make a new one, LOL.

That's awesome! And Moana is my new favorite Disney movie...just recently saw it and I'm obsessed! Can't wait to hear all about it!
 
Thanks! The show is TONIGHT! Wish her luck, she told me this morning that she is nervous! She forgot a few words at dress rehearsal...

Prayers and well wishes are welcome. She has some anxiety. Big deal for a 4th grader ;)

Thank you everyone. Well, it wasn't a flawless performance, but it wasn't because of her, :wink:

First, when they started the music, it wasn't her song... and when they re-started it, it still wasn't her song... so as if that wouldn't rattle the nerves of a 10 year old in front of hundreds of people, when she DOES start singing, HER MICROPHONE IS OFF! Thankfully the stage hand ran quickly and turned it on for her, so she only missed the first bit. I would have been a bundle of nerves and possibly broke down and cried right there on stage, but she just kept on going with it!

They have 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for each grade level (3rd, 4th and 5th grades), so after they handed out all 9 of those trophies to their winners, Priscilla figured she did her best, didn't win a trophy but tried her hardest and that's ok!

Then they said, "And now the Winner of the Grand Prize Trophy (winner over ALL grades).... 4th grader, Priscilla!"

and when they said her name, my husband and I looked at each other with the most puzzled faces and said Huh!? I WISH someone was recording me!! LOL I think Priscilla even said "What!?" We had already put our cameras away and everything. We got the last little bit of her walking up on stage with the massive trophy to get pictures, but I wish we had been recording them announcing her as the winner... it was just SO unexpected!

Oh my heck! I would been a nervous wreck and she did awesome. What a cutie! And I love her outfit.
Congrats to her!!
 
Congratulations Priscilla! A well deserved win for a talented and very poised beautiful young lady. A super song choice. Your movements were perfect to accompany your performance. How neat the audience was so into your performance as well. I'm happy mom video'd and shared with us.

Wow she was great!!! so composed and confident despite the rocky start!! And the trophy is a big as she is!!!! One fantastic LO coming up no doubt??:)

Absolutely! We were impressed with how she overcame it so easily.

Now to find the perfect kit!
 
Oh I adore that song and she has such a lovely voice! Moana is my new favorite Disney movie! Congrats to her!
 
So happy for her! Way to keep going no matter what happens! Give her a big thumbs up from me and look out American Idol!
 
That is adorable. So happy for her and you.

In grade five my son did a skipping routine to Happy by Pharell in his school talent show, stunning the whole school.
