Hey dear GS-Friends,

I know in this community are people from soo many different countries and areas. I would love to learn more about the area where you live.

I live in Germany in the west of our country, called Nordrhein-Westfalen. The area is called Bergisches Land ("mountainous country"). And its really like this.... always up and down when you go outside. We have 4 seasons here. Near us is Cologne a really famous and big city with the "dom".... Want to know more? Ask me and I try to answer

Where do you live? Could you tell me a little bit about it?
Hugs Claudi

I live in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It used to be a steel town. Most the the mills have closed. That land has been repurposed into parks and shopping areas. We have great hospitals and universities. A beautiful skyline. Lots of rivers and lots of bridges.

We love our sports teams - the Pirates (baseball), the Penguins (hockey), the Steelers (football).

Pittsburgh is close to many places - 5 hour drive to DC. 2 hours to Lake Erie. We have all 4 seasons here. Hot and humid in the summer, usually lots of snow in the winter. Spring and fall usually don't last very long, though.

wow Donna, love this photo! what a wonderful skyline. Do you live downtown? Or in the area around?

I live in Ontario, Canada. I'm in a city of about 200,000 called Stoney Creek. It's halfway between Niagara Falls and Toronto. (right in the middle actually!) I live right on the shores of Lake Ontario. I'm about an hour from the US border into NY state. :)

We also love our sports teams here! Toronto Blue Jays (baseball), Toronto Raptors (basketball) and the Toronto Maple Leafs (hockey).

We are famous for Niagara Falls as well.

We have four seasons, but lately it seems like we have just missed fall and went right to winter. We get some brutal winters but also sometimes more mild ones. Fall is gorgeous here and our province has some of the most beautiful country I've ever seen. :)

I am in Seattle well a suburb outside of it about 20 mins. I've lived here for 9 years now. I originally came from Salt Lake City Utah though.

My mother is from Essen, Germany! Not too far from Cologne :) She moved here to the States when she was 14 years old though.

I currently live in the state of Maine, US - it is part of New England in the most upper northeast part of the US.

I'm in Tampa, Fl. We have 4 seasons with mostly the same temperature. A lot of humidity in the summertime. When it is cold in the winter...winter is usually over by 11 am. Our house is high at 52 feet above sea level. Depending on traffic we can make it to the beach in under an hour.
We love sports and tourists, but not the traffic.

About 1.5 hr from DisneyWorld.
not sure if the photo will show.

I've been here since 1960. [born in NJ].
My paternal grandfather was born in Germany.

I live in Kansas City, Missouri which is almost, but not quite, in the center of the United States. It might be the biggest city near the center. Not sure on that. We have four seasons which are quite extreme (though not as bad as Nebraska!). Winters routinely include temperatures below zero Farenheit (which according to converter is - 17 C). Summers include temperatures above 95 F (which is 35 C). I grew up for the most part in Nebraska in an area that just about 3 hours from here, and my parents and inlaws still live there. I did live in California for five years in my early 40s and miss it, but I missed my family more.

No, I live about 12 miles south of the city, in the suburbs. That picture is my favorite view of the city. I go there several times a year just to take pictures.

It takes us about 4 hours of driving to get to Niagara Falls. We love going there, but haven't been there for a while.

I live in the middle of nowhere just outside San Antonio, TX. Literately I do not live inside the city limits of any town! :D and I LOVE it!!! I'm a totally country girl!! The closest little town to me has less then 1,000 people in it's population 1 Catholic Church, a baseball field, and a volunteer fire department. They even closed it's post office now! It's quiet and we like it that way. I work, go to Church, and my kids go to school in SA anyway, but it's nice for my boys to have all the open space to run and be loud and crazy when they are playing like I did when I was little!

San Antonio of course is very well known (Remember the Alamo) for it's history and culture (Viva Fiesta) and I am not alone, Kimberly from Leaving a Legacy Designs also lives here.

I live in Chubbuck, Idaho. We are neighbors of Pocatello, Idaho. I was born and raised here. Other than a year with my husband living in Rexburg, I have lived in this area for almost 66 years

I live in La Habra, CA. I've always lived within about a 15 mile radius from where I was born.
We are about 20 minutes from Disneyland, 45 minutes from the beach, and about 1-1/2 hours from the mountains and desert.
We don't really have seasons -- our lows in the winter may hit the 40s and highs in the summer have been over 100. We are in desperate need of rain!
I have always wanted to move out of CA...it's too urban and dry (and expensive!) for me. We had been looking & considering it and then found out my daughter was having our first grandbaby next year...so, at this point, we're staying put.
My ancestors are from Germany (up to my Grandpa still spoke German in the home). My dream was to live in Germany for a few years...my husband & I started dating in my senior year, so my dreams went out the window. I still would love to go and stay for an extended time.

We live in Blackick, OH, a suburb of Columbus. Central Ohio has 4 seasons with cold winters and usually hot, humid summers, but this year summer was very mild. Columbus is the capital of Ohio and has some professional sports teams: The Columbus Crew Soccer, The Columbus Clippers Baseball, and the Columbus Blue Jackets Hockey. But the Ohio State Buckeyes are usually the teams making headlines. I grew up in rural southern Ohio and have found the suburbs of Columbus to be full of friendly people. I live 15 minutes from my favorite mall (Easton), which is good AND bad! I love it here, but in the winters, I usually wish for a southern climate.
