RQOTD: Scary Movies Yes or No?

I used to, when I was younger but not now.. I am too scared then! I don't mind reading scary books though :)

My husband loves them so sometimes I "watch" them by default. But I don't like them. Oddly, I DO like some scary TV shows. We watch the Walking Dead and American Horror Story.

I saw Nightmare on Elm Street growing up, but the last actual scary movie I saw was Scream, on a screen, in the quad of a college (I was 15, I think?). Yeah, never going to be able to do that again. Scary movies and I are no longer on speaking terms hehe

Yes I love Scary Movies!!!!!! Silence of the Lambs was and still is one of my all time favorite films!

A big ole "Hell, NO!!!!" here. I won't watch them. I hate being scared. Life has scary enough moments. :shock

In my youth I loved horror movies. Since I have children, this has totally changed. I can not watch scary movie more.

I like psychological thriller/horrow movies, but not gore. That makes sense, right? Horror, yes. Slasher, no.

The same thing happened to me though I did regain the ability (though not the love of horror) once my children got older. I had my 5 in two sets, so this happened to me twice. I think it was the hormones. Babies/toddlers/young children - can't watch. Once they got to middle elementary age, I could watch again.

NOOOOOOO! Scary movies suck and leave me with bad dreams for days!!

Me too! I used to watch them, but I get nightmares so I don't very often anymore. If I do it's in the middle of the afternoon when the sun is shining and I have to watch something funny afterwards to clear my brain, LOL

Definitely not! We were never allowed to watch horror movies as a kid, but I watched some as a teen and had many sleepless nights.
I remember when my sister stayed overnight at a friend's house & they watched the Exorcist...she was probably a young teen. The next night, she woke up screaming and was busted! LOL! hehe
Just recently, I started watching The Walking Dead with hubby & my boys...it took me a long time to be able to sit & watch without some sort of distraction.

It depends...some movies that are scary. NOT the Exorcist type or the psychological thrillers. I watch Walking Dead (although I am a few episodes behind this season), and I like movies like Van Helsing, Underworld, and Hansel & Gretel. I don't like movies like Annabelle or Final Destination.

Speaking of scary, did any of you use to watch Dark Shadows--the show? Loved that show! I remember having a sleepover and watching that with all my girlfriends on a Friday night.

This is me! I can watch them during the day. I made the mistake of going to a scary movie at night with friends when my husband was deployed. I think I slept with every light in the house on when I got home that night! ;) I even had my dog and cats in the bedroom with me.

I'm with Gethane. Not so much the movies except Scream. But the TV shows, absolutely yes. Love AHS Hotel and the 2 Walking Dead shows.

I used to love Dark Shadows! It came on the Sci Fi channel years and years ago. I liked the 90's TV movie too. When we were in NY a few years ago we visited a gorgeous house where they used to film some of the exterior shots.
