I am not sure I really have one. I did read Stephen King A LOT when I was in high school. Like crazy amounts of Stephen King. But I don't know that he would necessarily be a favorite author. I tend to read historical fiction quite a bit. Is there an author you always have to pick up? Let us know. Maybe some of us will find some new faves!

I have so many favorite authors :)

alternate history: S.M. Stirling.
contemporary fantasy: Kevin Hearn
fantasy: Michael J. Sullivan
silly fantasy: Scott Meyer
near future sci fi: Robert J. Sawyer
romance: Julia Quinn
zombies!: Bobby Adair and Michael Steven Fuchs

Honestly, I rarely read anymore. One of the things that has fallen by the wayside so that I have more scrapping time.

I do love the JD Robb "In Death" series though, and I'm also a big fan of the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich.
Love anything by James Patterson too.

Stephen King is no.1 for me :). I love his books and so does my hubby. We have 60 (or maybe more?) of his books! I also like Dean Koontz, Jodi Picault.. But as I said, King is the best for me :).

Too many to list!!!

Here are a few I love and have read over and over:

JK Rowling
Robert Galbraith (Rowling's pseudonym)
Kathy Riechs
Lorna Landvik
Fannie Flagg
Lincoln Barclay
Harlan Coben
Lawrence Hill

I love mysteries and CSI type books. :)

I haven't read any fiction for quite some time. I used to read all the time, but then scrapping took over ;) I do miss reading a lot though!

Sad to report...I do not read much anymore. When young, I was an avid reader!
college, children...life ended that unless Dr. Seuss counts.
i enjoyed Dan Brown series, Michael Crichton and Jodi picoult. ( recent)

I am not a huge reader. But when I have read it was Diana Gabaldon, Nicholas Sparks, and Manel Loureiro who wrote Apocalypse Z. Such a good Zombie book!

Loving this thread! I'm another BIG Stephen King fan!
Recently started the Longmire series, on Audible, love that narration. It is very soothing and his nice deep relaxing voice is great to scrap and listen to :)

You all should check out the GS book club! We are always looking for more readers to join us!

We are very similar. I read a LOT of SK in high school/college. I enjoy it all, and I still read almost everything he writes, but for some reason, I never think of him as a favorite author! I read a lot of historical fiction and I weirdly like dystopian and young adult novels. If you asked for my favorite author (which, well, I guess you did) I would probably say Jodi Picoult, even though there is stuff of hers that I LOVE and stuff of hers that I don't really like. But I like to read her new ones as soon as they come out.

I read every day but I don't have an actual favorite author - I just pick up books that look interesting in the library. I always enjoy books written by:

David Baldacci
Ken Follett
Nelson Demille
Nora Roberts
Patricia Cornwell

Jennifer Weiner, hands down! I also love Wendy Markham's slightly series, JD Robb's In Death series and Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series. I'm going to have to branch out and try some of your suggestions too :).

Hmmm. Can I say myself? ROFL!!!

I have lots of favorites probably too many to name. And yes I am included on my own list. Lol.
