Resolutions??

I know resolutions have become a cliche thing that everyone always jokes about making and not keeping. But does anyone actually make New Years Resolutions anymore with the intention of truly following through with it?

I do not. My feeling has always been that why do I need to wait until New Year's to make a resolution or set a goal? I do this at any time of the year when I feel the need to do so :)

I do make resolutions; but I also believe as Marie does. I can make them any time of the year. This year I resolved to write everyday and stay on the healthy path that I started back in September.

No, I don't do resolutions. As a registered dietitian and group fitness instructor, I see far too many people trying to make extreme changes with the new year, and 99% of the time, they won't last, either because they took on too much at once, they took on something that was unrealistic, or any of a myriad of other reasons. I advise people to make small, realistic changes. For example, if you drink coffee and put cream and sugar in it every day, try switching out the cream for 2% milk, and then eventually skim. Same thing with exercise. Don't try to spend hours at the gym. Start small. Even a 10 minute walk will do you good if you aren't used to exercise. If you are a regular exerciser, make small, incremental changes.

So that's my rant. ;)

As for myself, I set goals throughout the year. They aren't resolutions, but goals. I modify and adapt as I go along, because life always happens!

I picked more, it'll be easy to meet.

More Sleep
More Music
More Tea
More Books
More Creating
More Scrapping
More Sunsets
More Mountains
More Long Walks
More Road Trips
More Laughter
More Fun
More Hugs
More Love

Not a resolution because I think like Caylynn, that they are unrealistic goals.

I just want to feel better and get my back in shape. I want happiness for my family and good health. That's it.
