resaving to a different size

So a while ago my EHD crashed. I was able to download many of my layouts but they are the 600X600 and I want to print them....can I save it to a large size work for printing? I have done it on a few some look okay and some are a little out of focus. What size do you print at? In the past I've always uploaded 3600X3600 for printing 12X12, this time I was thinking of doing a 10X10 or 8X8...any help would be great....

I hope someone replies to this because I was wondering the same thing. the only one I have ever printed years ago were 8 x8/

When increasing size, you are going to lose some detail for sure, you will lose some quality, and some pages may be fuzzy. That's why it's also recommended to save at the largest size/DPI that you can see yourself using, and then downside from there if/when required. Details and quality are preserved when going smaller, but not so much when enlarging. Also programs like Photoshop have definitely gotten better with their algorithms when you go from a smaller to larger size, so sometimes the results will be acceptable.

What do you recommend for saving it to a larger DPI?

If you print those 600x600 layouts, the resolution will be so poor and they will be very blurry. They look fine on your computer and in the galleries, but not in real life.

I always save my pages in PDF/TIF and web format.
I know it takes up extra space but I like to keep my Layout's original format.

Jennifer - I am so sorry you lost your EHD and all your layouts. As others have said, printing in 600x600 is going to give you really poor prints. And I am with Alanna, I save my PSD file and the web size of my layout. If I need to go back to make changes it is easy that way.

I always keep my files as .tif and a full size .jpg and a web size. Three versions. I also back up to a 128 gb flash drive every six months of so. I run my EHD Time Machine about monthly too. You can always reduce the size but unfortunately you cannot increase the size without losing quality.
