Question for Halloween Lovers - need your opinion!

I'm making a wedding gift (vow renewal) for someone who LOVES Halloween. I mean to the point she'd keep up Halloween decor all year around. They are extended family members on my husband's side and I have only met her once.

I thought I could come up with a nicely designed sign and frame it, that's related enough to Halloween but not overtly purple, green, and orange. It's not their actual wedding and they don't have a registry. This is more or less just to invite people to hear their vows since they got married during Covid lockdown last year.

Which of these phrases would you not mind seeing in your house year round, assuming you LOVED Halloween?

Or do you have any other suggestions?? THANKS!!!

  • Abandon All Hope, Ye Who Enter Here
  • Watch For Undead

  • Sit For a Spell and Enjoy a Brew
  • Pick Your Poison

  • Is It October 31 Yet?
  • Halloween Lovers Only
  • Where there is no imagination
    there is no horror
    – Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
  • Deep into the darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing,
Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before.
    – Edgar Allan Poe, “The Raven”

I personally am not into Halloween but I do think the "Sit for a spell and enjoy a brew" is a welcoming message.

What a wonderful gift, and how lovely that you're making it so personalized! I agree with the comments above about the best phrases.

We don't decorate for Halloween so much now that the kids are out of the house, but we celebrate Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) and make that day about remembering lost loved ones in a joyous way.

The Sit for a Spell and Enjoy a Brew would be the safest and most universal accepted sign.

Personally, I like "Abandon all hope, ye who enter here" But that's my sense of humor and not anywhere close to "normal"

You're so good at combining different fonts, creating swirls that dangle, tangle or strangle and blending spooky hues together...so the sign (whatever you decide to use) could look menacing even if the words don't. Thus giving it a Halloweenish look.

The Sit for a Spell and Enjoy a Brew is the one I like hope you show us a photo what ever you decide to make:)

We dont do Halloween here in Australia in any big way, although retail is trying very hard to increase popularity. I think the "Sit for a Spell and Enjoy a Brew" is welcoming as well as Halloweenie. I am looking forward to seeing what you come up with Elizabeth. I'm having a chuckle over TBear's post...I remember her wacky sense of humour from way back in DSP days:)

Hope you post the finished project. All of us would love to see it!
