Question about downloading / saving Template files

I am wondering how many of you download ALL of the available formats (png, tiff, psd, page) when you download your templates and how many of you only download the type you need? I want to save space on my computer so I see the benefits of only downloading the one you need (I use PSE) but I did start out with one program and very quickly switched to using PSE so I wonder, if that were to ever happen again... I might need those files that I chose not to download. I don't see switching but you never know.

I only keep the format that I'm going to use. In my case, I keep .tiff because those files are smaller than .psd. I also use Photoshop Elements.

I only use and download PSD files.. you'd only need PAGE (or PNG) files if you plan to start using Artisan software. if not sure, I'd suggest you save the rest to EHD and keep only the files you use in your PC to save space :)

Caylynn - I am showing my ignorance here - I had no idea tiff files could be used with photoshop. Is the only difference the size of the file? Just wondering why there would be two of them.

Well, so far, I can do everything with .tiff templates that I can do with .psd templates. Apparently .psd stores more metadata, and can do some fancier things in Photoshop CC (such as layer groups) but I don't have need of those.

Hi Lisa, how lovely to "see" you. How are you? I use Photoshop CS5 and I only keep the .psd files. I may start saving and giving .tiff files a try from now on though.

I use Photoshop CC, I save the .tiff or .psd files. I haven't notice any difference between the two.

I use Photoshop CS6 and used to always only save the PSD but I recently learning that TIFF works the same but smaller in file size, I now only save the TIFF.

I did a little research and TIFF was the original format and Adobe decided to create PSD files for their software based on TIFF.

I use photoshop cc. I have had almost ever version of PSE and photoshop.
( over the years).
iF a tiff file is saved the correct way ( correct is my opinion word) it will be smaller file size than a psd.
Psd is a document created by Adobe.
Tuff is much more universal. It can be used by any program that accepts a layered format.

Tgat saud/ I keep the tiff. If for whatever reason the pad is smaller ( rare), I will save it then resave my way.

NEVER. Have had a problem / my tiff settings. i will pm a tutorial to you tomorrow that I once wrote on thus exact topic.

I scrap using PS CC and .tiff files. Tiff files are smaller than the .psd files, but that makes no difference in the printed layout page.

You do not need to download any other form of the template that you do not need. If it all comes in one download, then just delete what you don't need.
