PSE File Size limit

I have PSE 15 and used it with no trouble for about 5 months. Lately when I make a layout (not always, one in 15 times maybe) I will get a message when I go to save the file in psd format that the file won't save because it exceeds 2 gigabytes. This is strange because the actual file size appears to be about 800 megabytes. I am wondering if anyone else has found this and been able to fix the problem.

I'm not sure why that's happening. Have you looked at your preferences for performance? You can determine how much of your RAM PSE uses in the first box of the menu (Memory Usage). The software will tell you how much RAM is available and give you an ideal range for your system. That's the only thing I can think of that might be the issue.
