Project Life without having kids?

Hey ladies, I really want to give Project Life (in some sort of form)a try in 2016 but: what would you scrap/write about if you don't have kids? A thought that came to my mind is to use it as a way of keeping a journal..
Thoughts? Ideas? Tips? Please share! Thanks in advance ***

Absolutely! The project life style of scrapping is perfect for journalling and capturing your life regardless of what your familial status is.... People without kids have fun and interesting lives worth passing on to nieces or nephews or just looking back on! I say go for it!

Scrap your trips, your everyday. Anything you would like to look back on and remember. Your own genealogy could be an avenue to explore as well.

Some do a project 52 - so one page a week, and you can talk about general things, one "big" event from the week, your mood,e etc!

Thanks for the ideas ladies! :) I only have 1 niece but I don't have much to pass on to her as I don't see her often 'on my own' (long story that makes me angry and sad at the same time. In short it comes down to my sister and her bf not trusting me when I'm alone with my niece)

Not having kids is not all that different from having a kid who won't ever let me take her picture or pictures of anything she's doing LOL. I do my P52/Project life pages differently from most. I like to take one thing from that week, could even be one photo, and journal about it. Like once I made a page on this huge spider I saw at my office. I included some info from Wikipedia about the spider. Once I took pictures of rolling our spare change and did a page on that. Those are light topics, but I've done heavy ones, too, like when my daughter got really sick. These random pages are some of my favorites. Not events necessarily, but more like things that don't normally get scrapped because they're too "everyday", you know?

Most of the year there are no kids in our house and I've been doing PL for years :) I scrap our travels, everyday stuff, and lots of pictures of the kitty. I think doing PL, especially if you don't have kids, makes you look at the world differently. You look for beautiful and interesting things. I think Becky's way of doing P52 would be great if you find doing it the traditional way intimidating. There's a lot less pressure to "keep up" when you're concentrating on one story a week.

Some things I've scrapped in my PL- my husband, my cat, random photos my extended family sends, books I'm reading, TV I'm watching, pretty sunsets, my plants, new recipes, building in my town that I love, favorite restaurants, my desk at work (when I worked outside the home) objects in my home that have special meaning, songs I'm listening to, favorite spots in my home, selfies, lizards that came to visit, ducks that used to hang out in my neighborhood, parks I like to go to, my husband's work and hobbies, emails with friends who live far away, pictures stolen from social media, LO's I'm working on, things in the news.... the list goes on and on...

EVERYONE has an interesting life and interesting stories to tell. I believe that with all my heart. Having kids or not having kids has nothing to do with your level of interestingness :)

I love this and completely agree, Jen! :)

I like to use scrapbooking as a way not only to document life but especially to journal my thoughts on life and myself during the years... it's cool to see how much I've been growing as a person trhough my pages. I say go for a journal type of PL!

I think I'm going for a journal type of thing and then throw in random pics that go with the story :) Thank you all for the great ideas, I really appreciate it!! ***

AND ... GET UP TO FOUR CHALLENGE POINTS ;)

Check out Photo a Day themes and the like and it will help. Track the memories, the normal everyday stuff. I'm "known" for taking pictures of more than just my kids, and that includes the washing machine with clothes washing, etc :D Life is life even if you don't have kids. Things happen, life happen, memories can be made!
