Dear GingerScraps Family,
I wanted to take a moment to share some difficult news. Penny (Sweet Pea Designs), one of our beloved designers, is currently in the ICU and facing some serious health challenges. She is aware of her surroundings and able to communicate minimally, but she is on a ventilator.
Penny is not only an incredibly talented designer but also a kind and thoughtful soul who has touched so many of our lives with her creativity and generosity. She needs our love, support, and prayers now more than ever.
Please keep Penny, her family, and her loved ones in your thoughts and prayers during this challenging time. I know that together we can surround her with positive energy and strength.
If you’d like to leave a message for Penny, please post it in this thread. Her husband Vinny or someone close to her can read your words to her, and I’m sure they will mean a great deal during this difficult time.
If I receive any updates, I will share them here. In the meantime, let’s keep Penny close in our hearts and hope for her full recovery.
Sending hugs to all

To keep you all updated, I replied to Vinny (Penny's husband) here was our exchange,
My last email to him,
"Hi Vinny,
Thank you again for allowing me to share Penny’s situation with our community. The response has been overwhelming, with so many people sending love, prayers, and positive thoughts her way. If you'd like to see the messages people are leaving for her, you can view them in this forum post: Pray Request for a GingerBread Lady.
I also wanted to ask if you’d be comfortable sharing your mailing address with me. Many in our community have expressed a desire to send her cards and notes of encouragement. If you’re okay with it, I’ll only provide the address via private messages to those who request it—I won’t post it publicly or on social media.
Additionally, if there’s an update on Penny’s condition that you feel comfortable sharing, I’d love to pass it along to our community to keep them informed. Everyone is deeply concerned and continues to send their prayers and support to you and Penny.
Please let me know if there’s anything else I can do to help during this time.
Take care,
Ginger"

"Hello Ginger,
Thank you very much for sharing.
Here is our address and I know Penny would love the encouragement.
She remains in the ICU with a trach and ventilated and will most likely need to go to a long term acute care hospital for further care in the near future.
She is slowly making progress as each day brings new challenges both good and with opportunities.
Again please thank everyone for their prayers and good wishes.
Vinny"

Hello Ginger,
Penny remains in the ICU. She is still on the ventilator and now dialysis. There are ups and downs but she is making small improvements overall as her health is very complicated even for the docs here to care for her. We are here in Orlando and the care she is receiving is very good.
Thank you for your concern and please thank all for the continued prayers.
God bless and have a safe and Happy New Year!

UPDATE
Dear GingerScraps Family,
It is with a heavy heart that I share some very sad news. Our beloved designer, Penny, has passed away. Her husband, Vinny, shared that she is now pain-free and reunited with God as she rests peacefully.
Penny’s incredible talent, kind spirit, and unwavering creativity have touched so many of us over the years. She wasn’t just a designer—she was a friend, mentor, and inspiration to our community. Her loss leaves a void that will be deeply felt by everyone who knew her or admired her work.
In honor of Penny, her shop at GingerScraps will remain open until the end of January. All proceeds from sales in Sweet Pea Designs’ shop will go directly to Penny’s family. This is a way for us to honor her legacy and remember the beauty she brought into our lives through her art.
Please join me in keeping Vinny and Penny’s loved ones in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time. If you’d like to share a memory, thought, or message for Vinny, please feel free to do so here, and I will make sure he receives them.
Here is a link to her obituary: Penny Feher Obituary. You are welcome to leave messages there as well, as Vinny will have access to both places and will be able to see your kind words.
Additionally, if you’d like to share your favorite layouts made with her beautiful products, please post them here in this thread. It’s a special way for us to celebrate her talent and the joy she brought to so many.
Thank you for being the loving and supportive community I know Penny treasured so much.
