Pokemon

hi everyone !

I've a question, maybe silly, but I don't find the answer. in the gallery, there is always wonderful and creative pages, but I've few of them about a Pokemon's game.
what is this game ? it looks like it takes a big place in your lifes.
who can explain me ?

thank you

It's an app on your phone which puts you on a map. When you move, your character moves. Random Pokemon show up and you try to capture them. That's as far as I've gotten into the game ;). My son and his friends love it. Me and my friends don't really love them running down the batteries on our phones!

My kid walked 12 miles the other day with his friends collecting them and yesterday one of the other Moms drove them to Bellevue so they could go to a park there that had tons of Poke Stops.

that's amazing Kim. now the app is available in France. and my hubby wants to play with it but he has a windows phone and the app doesn't run for windows phone

We've mostly driven around to find Pokemon & stops because it's been so darn hot! Once the weather cools down, I'm going to send them out walking! :)

I have been playing too! Actually my whole pharmacy crew at work is playing. When one of them gors on break they collect everyone's phones and take them to the pokestops next door to us. Tammy I agree it has been too hot, so I have basically had hubby drive me around. Last weekend it was coolish here and we did walk five miles, so I am waiting for cooler weather.

My two boys (especially my 10 year old) have been huge fans of the Pokemon card game for quite some time now (we have SO. MANY. CARDS. lol!), so the app has been a HUGE hit around here, for sure! We do night time hunts several times a week (mostly driving around, because it's been so hot & humid and Pokestops are so far away, but the walks have been very nice, too) and have taken part in one huge city wide Pokemon event so far (and have plans to attend more in the very near future).

I get the idea that some bash people (adults more so than kids, probably) for playing the game. Yes, it's kind of silly to run around trying to catch "invisible creatures". But, we're doing it as a family, enjoying our time together, making memories. How is that a bad thing? :)

I just hope the silly online petition I 'signed' encouraging them to create a Harry Potter Go app works so I can hunt down some horcruxes!! ;)

Admittedly, I've downloaded the app, but we've not played. I'm not willing to drive around to find them and triple digits is just too hot to be out chasing Pokemon. My kids are convinced that it won't be "coooool" to play once it finally cools down.
Personally, I'm hoping for the Harry Potter version to become a reality. ;)

Haha! That is too funny, Danica! If I'm out without my son, I play, too. I try to get as many Pokestops as possible and even catch some Pokemon :) It's a fun game & I love how it has people out and about. We've seen more people in the parks here than we ever have!

Being married to a freak about internet security (after all that is how we pay the bills), he won't let the kids put it on their phones. Too risky he claims and subject to much identity theft. So my kids are the ONLY children in the whole world not playing it...there is much weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth around here this summer.

Ok, now that one, I would play! lol

My 11 year old has it on his phone and plays it with all his friends....
Including MY 44 year old boyfriend! The good thing is, this has given them something to bond over, so I'm not really complaining other then the fact that when they start talking about it, I am totally lost!!!

My 39 year old husband took a day off work next week...JUST so we can take a short trip to the Birmingham Zoo that day for a Pokemon event. I fully encouraged him to do so. :D

That sounds like fun. I am still playing. Hubby even helped me track down a dratini the other day, and said that he had fun doing it. I think he was trying to butter me up for something.

I ran in to that problem ALL THE TIME when I had my Windows phone. When we got new phones in January, my husband was like, "you are NOT getting a Window's phone" and made me get an iPhone :D

Your children are not the only one. I've forbidden it in the house. No one will be playing it. It's far too dangerous, especially having young, non-streetsmarts children walking out and about in the city. Call me over-protected, but I'd like to tuck my children in at the end of the night. I get it's a great activity, but I've been fully encouraging my children to go outside and talk to the neighbors, meet new friends, rather than being holed up in the house or nose glued to a phone/tablet.

You can tell your kids, there's another parent out there! :D
