Picture On Folder

Is there a way to put a picture on the kit on the cover of the folder once you have extracted it? I have so many files on my computer it's extremely hard to remember what they kit is by the name. I have the organized by the Designer and then with that Designers' folder I have folders for each kit, but it would be nice to be able to see a picture of the kit. Also, where to you go to tag the folder such as Christmas, etc. All help would be appreciated.

I'd be interested to know that too:) My folders are half open so I can at least get a glimpse of what is in them.

I can tell you how to on a Mac

Go to the preview jpg that you want to show up on your folder.

Double-click on the jpg OR right click and say Open in Preview.

Click anywhere on the preview image to select it.

Command + A to select the whole image. You'll know you did it correctly if there is a dotted line around the image.

Command + C to copy the image.

Go to the folder you want to change, right-click, then hit Get Info.

In the Get Info panel, at the very top, will be a little picture of a folder. Click on that once to select it, then Command + V to paste.

That should change it to the preview image you want. :)

If you want to change it back to the folder icon, just click on the image in Get Info and hit delete.

If you search "Custom Folder Photo in Microsoft Windows 10" on YouTube there are a few tutorials there...hope this helps :)

To do this in Windows 10,
1. right click on the folder you want the picture on.
2. Select "properties" from the menu (should be at the bottom)
3. Go to the "Customize" tab (should be at the far right)
4. The middle box is labelled "Folder Pictures" - click the rectangle that says "Choose File..."
5. Browse to locate the preview picture you want to show and select it
6. Click "Open" at the bottom right the window
7. Click OK
8. Make sure your file explorer is set to view icons as opposed to details - the folder will show as if it is partially open with the image you selected visible. I use Extra Large Icons to make the previews easier to see.

Thank you! I will now be putting the scrapbook layout that coincides with my photos on the photo file. Pretty much the highlight of my day! :)
