What is your perfect scrapping environment?

  • Do you need peace and quiet?
  • Do you play music?
  • Do you binge watch TV programs?
  • Do you get excited when family leaves so you have the freedom to scrap?
  • Do you have to feel inspired before you sit and scrap?

I like family to be gone and I binge 'watch' TV shows or movies I have seen before. I don't have to pay attention to things I have seen before, but I like the background noise.

Oh this is a good question!

I do enjoy peace and quiet, but I often get into flow where I ignore what's going on around me, so people watching TV or listening to music don't bother me.

I do enjoy it when my family leaves, but shh! Don't tell them. ;) But I don't mind them being around either.

I do think I need to feel inspired by either the photos or the kit before I scrap. It's just the way I work.

I always have the TV tuned in to the news while I scrap. I prefer to scrap when I know I will not be bothered as much, so usually after 8 at night. Being the kids do their own thing now, so when they come in I usually stop scrapping and we chat a while.

Lynnie, you have given us an interesting question/s to answer.

I sometimes like background music when I am creating on the computer and other times I like silence.
No need to worry about being bothered as most times when I am scrapping my husband is busy in his workshop working with wood.

If I am alone, I usually have the tv on for some background noise. If the family is around, I usually only scrap while they are doing something else.

I do need some source of inspiration either from my photos, a kit, or a challenge.

I have two work stations for designing and scrapping. One in my family room that I use at night and on the weekends. I also have one next to my real life work station in my bedroom office. That way if I am on a super long and boring conference call I can multi-task.

I like to have background noise, TV, Music, Podcasts. It's just me and my hubs so I never feel super excited to "get away" to have scrap time unless it's a weekend event where a bunch of digital scrappers get together - now that is fun and I can't wait to be doing that again soon!

My inspiration is to design templates I would use (if I ever took time to scrap for myself).

I need background noise, with 5 kids & various pets it is never quiet in my house.
I have 2 monitors set up so I usually have a tv show or youtube or something on the other screen to watch or even just have spotify playing just to have background noise but I don't usually get to scrap until after the kids go to bed.

I don't mind if people are around when I scrap they do know though I may not answer them straight away if I am on a design streak ha ha

I like having the house to myself to scrap, I put a tv show, movie or youtube video on to half pay attention to. I can easily get inspired by looking at galleries, challenges and pinterest. I never had trouble with my scrappy mojo, my problem is finding enough time these days to scrap. I have a new puppy and she was very sick when we got her so its been extra stressful and time consuming to care for her. She seems to be thriving now but will still have months ahead of me of training and exercising her.

For me, it depends on what the rest of my day has been like. I am a teacher and we have part-time online teaching and part-time at school. If I’ve had a lot of lessons in school, I want peace and quiet. If I’ve been online, when the students are less interactive then I want noise! So it’s the tv or music.

I binge watch with my tablet. Because I design, I have to "schedule" my time to scrap or I will NEVER get to it! I like it when I am "home alone", my family is LOUD....LOL

I love to work on something alone. I don't like it when someone distracts, but at the same time I can turn on music or a TV series and listen as a background. Music often helps you concentrate.

Great question, I love seeing how everyone sets themselves up to scrap!

I can go either way with noise. My computer is in the middle of our house so there is distraction sometimes. I usually have my headphones in with podcasts or a book going, or sometimes YouTube. The only time when I really need quiet is when I'm doing journaling for LO's. I get more excited for naps when everyone leaves more than scrapping :) I do generally have an idea of what I want to scrap before I sit down, whether it's from a kit, or my photos, or a challenge.

Definitely an interesting question. I generally like an empty house and quiet, but background noise like a TV program doesn't bug me. I only need silence when I'm journaling. I used to be a laptop on the couch scrapper, but we just renovated our office since hubby will be remote for the foreseeable future, and I have a nice new desk with plenty of workspace!

I generally scrap in the early morning or later in the evening. I have it quiet as my husband is still sleeping most of the time. In the evening it is because my husband is watching sports either by himself or with his son. Because I journal scrap, I try and take a photo a day to add to the layout and then use it to find kits to work with. I have always loved quiet more than noise. Even when driving alone, I generally have it quiet unless I am tired and then will turn music or talk shows on. I will binge scrap when family isn't here to visit.

I have my own crafting space and this where I usually do all things crafty including digital scrapping. However, I am known to take my laptop with me to the beach and sit under the palms and do the same. I usually create without music or much noise, but it doesn't really matter unless I'm in the middle of learning a new difficult technique.

I absolutely love when guests leave so I can craft. I am my most creative from 9 p.m.- 1 a.m. Drives my husband slightly batty.

I watch TV in spurts. Since COVID, I've actually watched very little TV or shows. When I do decide to watch shows, I usually binge.

No, I don't need to feel inspired. I usually have so many ideas tripping over in my brain, I usually find it more difficult to channel one to execute it.....sometimes I just combine them all and see what happens.

Do you need peace and quiet? Sometimes but not always
Do you play music? Very seldom, I’d rather have tv on in background for noise
Do you binge watch TV programs? Yes but only ones that don’t absolutely grab my attention
Do you get excited when family leaves so you have the freedom to scrap? Yes, but family never leaves.
Do you have to feel inspired before you sit and scrap? If I’m not inspired I hit my photo roll or go to Pinterest
