Old Layouts

Looking through some of my old layouts. Thinking I might have to redo them the look so out dated .Any one feel the same.

Yes I do, but I don't know if I want to do them again! I am behind so far now with two grand babies. I did the first year of my niece's twins for her and that was 11 years ago and I stopped doing digi until now. She is happy with the book and I don't want to do them over. I lost a lot of lo when my EHD drive died several years ago.

Especially if they've been printed I do not re-do. Sometimes, as I am UL to print the book I will 're-do' just to make the pages flow better.

I do not have time to re-do layouts. Plus it gives a sense of either growing or not to look back. If others don't like them they don't have to have them

I did a re-do challenge a couple of times at a different site. I think it can be fun to see how far my scrapping abilities have come! I also re-scrap favourite photos, because I like interpreting them in new and different ways!

I see older layouts and I cringe a little, lol.. But like others have said, too many other pictures to scrap and like Caylynn, I like to see how far I've gone with scrapping. From the all over elements to the over-shadowing, lol.

I never redo a layout, ever. LOL - I just don't have time for that, plus once my yearly photobook is printed it's done anyway. I will re-scrap the same photo though in different contexts.

I started digital scrapping in February of this year. I look at those pages (6 months old mind you) and I cringe. Thanks to the awesome sales on this site my scrapping has done a 180.

Back when I did paper scrapping I was a minimalist. I'd mat (sometimes double mat) my pictures. Do a journaling box, a title and maybe one element. That was it. Because I take so many pictures I do a lot of pages and I couldn't afford to put a lot on each page. With digital scrapping, I can add as much as I want because I can reuse a kit forever. So it took a while to break my minimalist habits. But I won't redo those pages. Like everyone else has said, it shows growth.

I did redo a few pages in my Hawaii album only because a kit became available that fit it perfectly.

In the end, just remember the one rule of scrapping. There are no rules. There are no scrapping police that will come down and yell at you. If in your heart you aren't happy looking at the older pages, then, by all means, redo them. Scrapping is about being happy looking at the pages.

Yes. In fact, I just did over a whole book.

The very first book that I made was back in 2011. I scrapped my dream trip to Alaska. The program that I used at the time, sbcStudio for MAC by Creative Memories was new and terrible. There were no templates that were compatible with the software, so each page is a scraplift. 91 pages of no templates, and those of you who know me know that I love my templates!

So, I started doing the whole thing over and I'm so glad that I did. I love the new and improved version. Some of the pages, well probably most of the pages, are posted here in the gallery. One of the biggest improvements is that I now know how to edit pictures! The old layout has pictures straight out of the camera. The new book also uses only two or three kits and alphas, and the same font for all my journaling. It's much more cohesive.

I am like a lot of you, too many pictures to redo old layouts. But I have scrapped the same picture several times. I haven't printed many pages so I am sure once I get to that point in my life I will feel like redoing a lot of them. At some point printing books will be cheaper and I will be able to afford the printing. :)

DON'T do them over! You will always love to compare how far you have come! I HATE my first layouts (with the 4 inch sized buttons LOL) and terrible shadows but it's awesome to see how I have evolved over time. ALSO, I love to see how the trends have changed over time. I have been digi scrapping since 2007 and things have changed a ton!
