New...Never have done digital...

Hi there! A laser printer would be wonderful, but I, like a lot of others here, don't print my layouts at home. I haven't gotten them printed out from another service (like Shutterfly) yet either. But when I do, I will go the online service route. Hopefully someone can answer your question about printing at home. :)

How do you have yours printed? Have you had any printed yet?

I haven't printed any yet, and I'm not looking forward to the task. I have over 500 digital layouts. Yes, I'm crazy for not getting it done a long time ago.

For me I have printed some at home, but I go into it knowing that the ones I print at home will not be top quality. I have made lots of projects in the past and always use my home printer, I just don't expect they will last for many years without fading.

If you use a good printing company you can count on your pages lasting for years and years looking just like they did the day you received them.

I have a photobook that I had printed by shutterfly (I think it has been about 9 years ago) and it still looks like that day I received it. I also have prints (individual pages) from Persnickety Prints and they look perfect too.

Hopefully that helps a little bit :)

You can also get them printed by the page at Costco, CVS, Staples, or about any place! I've used persnickity, and have been quite pleased with their BOOKS though!! It IS quite a daunting thing to have so many not printed. Even with printing costs, though, I find digital scrapping much cheaper than paper scrapping!! Good luck!! and don't wait too long to get your things printed!!

I have gotten mine printed from Scrapping Simply and have never had a problem with them.

Me too on Scrapping Simply [or the sister site- Paper Kiwi]. Same owner. Awesome folks-a 'real' person answers the phone when you call. Very helpful. Rex is the owner and Linda - well she knows everything!

I've also been pleased with Sam's Club. I print a 12x12 onto a 12x16 background and add little pics in the empty space.

I've been pleased with Persnickety Prints as well as Blurb.

edit- I had 8.5 x 11 calendars printed at Office Depot on cardstock. Very pleased.

I found that it cost me more with ink to print at home but I only have ink jet not laser. I found it cheaper with Persnickety or Shutterfly or other printing companies.

I use and love Persnickety Prints! They send notices to my email when they are having sales, and that's when I buy my print credits ahead to use later when I'm ready to print and decide which size album I wish to print. They are high quality, arrive safely packaged in the mail, and I've never been disappointed or had any problems. I even learned to design a post bound album cover through a class by a designer once, had it printed by Persnickety, and it's the best 12 x 12" album cover I own because it's more personal!

If you like to stay organized, you can upload your full size original digi-scrapped pages into albums on the Persnickety Prints site as you make them. Then, you are ready for printing whenever you desire! I believe there is unlimited space to store there as long as you check into their site at least once every 60 days!
