Need your best ideas for moving, roadtrip, new life, etc, type of kits

I've been living in the bay area for five years and I'm very sad to leave but the housing costs are pushing my family out. I didn't want to move my children to a different school district yet again with no guarantee that I wouldn't have to do it again next year or the year after. I accepted a position in Kansas City. We're going to have a chaotic few weeks of finishing packing, storage of our stuff, floating around staying with friends while I serve out my two weeks notice, and then a road trip along I-40 to see the Grand Canyon, Albuquerque, Santa Fe, and Oklahoma City before heading up to KC. So I will need some kits to commemorate these times. I hope I remember to take some pictures!

So give me your best recommendations to commemorate these sad yet exciting times!
 
Whoa! That is a big move! We did the train ride from Williams Az to the Grand Canyon. It was wonderful.
I have zero experience on the other towns mentioned. I have been to : Las Vegas, St. Louis. Too.

Do you have Connie's Road Warrior kit? The kit seems more like for driving, but I used it to document a road trip and I loved it; the "life is a highway" WA is perfect for your journey to a new part of your life. :)
