My LO's upload as a different size

Why do my posted layouts look smaller than everyone else's? I've checked the pixels, dpi, image size... I've tried uploading 100 dpi, 600x600 pixels (6x6 inches), also 72 dpi, and other combinations that stay under the allowed size limit, but my LO's always look smaller on the site than everyone else's. I have a feeling I'm missing something easy! Here's an example:

600x600 pixels equates to 8.33x8.33 inches at 72 dpi. Try that and see if that makes a difference. :)

Thank you - I have tried that, just tried it one more time, but then I get a message saying my file exceeds the size limit. Ah well... I've seen that others are having a hard time even posting, I suppose I can't complain!

I finally posted my most recent LO. Looks like the biggest I can post is 432 pixels, 6x6 inches, at 72 dpi. Anything bigger, I get the "exceeds file size limit" message.

What format are you saving at? I save as JPEG, and I have to reduce the quality to somewhere between 70 and 75% to get my layouts to be within the file size limit most of the time. You can also try using https://www.picresize.com/

Also what software are you using? Someone who uses the same software might be able to help you out. :)

I use Photoshop CS6, and save my LO's as PSD files while I'm working on them, then as JPEG once they're finished - a full-size 12x12 JPEG/300 DPI, and a second JPEG that is smaller, whatever size I need for posting. Eventually I print my LO's at home, in 8x8 at 300 DPI. I do use a Mac computer... I've wondered if my browser might be the issue. Thank you for the reply!

You have to make sure your layouts are no larger than 600 x 600 AND no larger than 350 KB. I usually try to make mine less than 200 KB as it allows me to post in several open galleries that require the smaller file size.

Thanks everyone, for your answers and thoughts. My question really is, if everyone is held to the same size limit, why do my posted LO's look smaller in the gallery and in the threads than everyone else's? I don't have a problem keeping my posted LO's under the size limit (I know how to manipulate the pixels/inches/DPI to bring it under a specific size... and to post as large as possible to stay under the limit!), but even so, my posted LO's show up on the site a smaller size than everyone else's, even if my actual LO is the same size that others are posting (such as 72 DPI, 8.33 inches, 600x600 pixels). For some reason, once posted, my LO's LOOK smaller. They do to me, anyway... maybe they appear the normal size to you all?

It's something I can put up with; they're still big enough to see most details - just wondered if I was doing something different from everyone else. It doesn't sound like I am, which again makes me think it might be a browser issue.

I use CS6 also. When I am done with an image, I flatten the image and resize to 600x600 pixels, not bothering with the dpi which is at 300. then I save it as a jpg, standard, and it is usually around an 8 in quality to be around 250kb, which is that max for some galleries. When there is a lot of colors, or especially red, the quality is too low (3 or 4) to be the right file size, so I use "save for web" instead of "save as". This has a quality slider in the upper right, and a size counter in the lower I can watch as I slide to make it the right size. it is usually between 67 and 75. I looked at a few of your layouts posted and yes they are smaller, but none are 600 pixels, there were some 432x432 and even a 346x346. I hope my directions are clear enough!

Michelle, thank you, this worked! I've never tried "Save for Web" before, although I've seen it. Never knew about the sliders. There's always something new to learn. I do appreciate everyone who answered to give me help, thank you!
