Looking to buy a desktop computer.... suggestions needed!

Hey everyone,

I currently scrap on a MacBook Air that is the property of my school district. I just received my committee stipends for the year and am thinking about purchasing a desktop for myself for Mothers Day and an early birthday present. (Yes, I buy myself gifts lol!) I am thinking that a 27" screen would be awesome compared to what I'm working with now. Teaching by computer and trying to scrapbook plus working my side business with my Cricut is exhausting to my old eyes lol.

Anyway... I think I want to stick with Mac, but of course it's pricier than a PC would be.

Looking for any ideas - haven't used a PC in years. Pros/cons?

Thanks!

I have a big screen that I have saved from when I had my desktop before I went to a laptop. I use it solely to scrapbook on. It is BIG. Funny, I am thinking of going to a Macbook from my PC. I don't have any advice for you other than a big screen is SUPER nice.

For sure! Whichever option I go with, it's going to have a BIG screen! :)

I have a 27 inch Mac and it is my precious... We got it a few years ago as a refurb and I'm not sure I could go back to a laptop sized screen for scrapping. Definitely try Apple's refurb site. We've gotten several computers from there over the years and they've all been great.

My specs in case you're interested
iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015)
24 G Memory (though it has slots for more)
3.12 TB Fusion HD

Oh! One thing you might want to check before getting a new Mac- make sure all of your programs are 64 bit compatible. The new OS won't work with my older version of PSE so I haven't upgraded yet.
