Locked out of uploading gallery images

At approx. 10:30 today, 3/16, I uploaded one image. Then, at noon, I tried to upload another and got the message that "you have exceeded you maximum of 8". Looks like some crazy adding here, 1 does not equal 8.
This is frustrating when I am trying to participate in this months challenges.
Went in and cleared my history and cache and the message is still there.
