Last Week of School Craziness

I just looked over the school schedules of 4 kiddos for the last week of school next week. I think they are trying to drive me crazy. There are 1/2 days, finals, late starts, early outs, field days, Kindergarten Celebration, field trip and more!

How about you? Is your schools getting out.
 
My grandson [pre-k age 3] had his last day on May 13. Public school here is until mid June, I think. I'm retired from teaching so not sure.

I will say, I worked harder today to keep him busy.

Ahhhh... I wish that this was my last week of school LOL! This time of year is always crazy with all of those weird schedules and events. I get out on Wed. June 15th, and my boys finish on the 17th.

16.5 days.... but who's counting? :)
 
Thankfully now that my daughter is in high school there aren't many "end of school" events. There is the honors and awards banquet next week but that's it. She starts finals on June 8th and is done June 13th. She has 2 more track events - regionals and states but those are both on Saturdays. So, all is quiet here :clap:
 
My son is graduating so he is done on the 24th. The other two kiddos aren't done until June 3. Big son and I are flying to Washington DC the day he is done (24th) until June 1 for his senior trip. How sweet is it that he wants to do his senior trip with me? I love him!
 
Wow..that's EARLY Megan!!!

We dont' get out until June 28th and that is 2 days early this year!!!! It's also a Wed, which is really strange but I won't complain.

Really, the last three days they will do nothing as reports are due 2 weeks before. They should have just let ours out on June 24th..but nope...they have to go those three days and sit and do nothing. lol
 
Trace, I always think that is funny too. Ours did the same thing. Grades were finally over a week ago - so 2 weeks where nothing counts. Then, this week, they changed up stuff. It used to be that "field day" was on the very last 1/2 day. Now, it is today ??? Then, they come back tomorrow and Thursday.

As to being finishing early, I think it has to do with how little we get off throughout the year. We only get a week for Spring Break, week for TG and about 2 for Christmas. Then, we go back mid-August.
 
I hear ya!! The past couple months have been a whirlwind for me!! Spring concerts, end of season sports parties, end of year picnics, end of year school projects, lol.... on and on... Thankfully the two littles get out June 3. But my oldest in HS gets out June 17!! I feel so bad for him...
 
MY kids don't get out til June 22nd But my senior graduates on the 17th of June so my other kids will be annoyed that he doesn't have to go to school anymore but they still do. I only have 1 in elementary school now and I don't think they are doing much in the way of events. We had a 4th grade recorder concert the other day but I am not seeing anything else on the calendar besides all the prep my Senior has to do to make sure he graduates all the paper work and what not with the councilors but thats on him.
 
So, my 13 yo gets home from school today (second to last day) and I ask her how her day went. She says, "it was so boring! I only watched movies all day!" Every class was a different movie.
 
I just don't understand why they make the kids go all those days if they are just going to watch movies. They can watch movies at home.

We get about 10 days at Christmas and a week for March Break. Then a few long weekends for national holidays like Victoria Day and Easter. That's it. Our kids are required by law to have 180 days of learning. We get July and August off for summer.​
