Las Vegas

Sugar Cookie : GingerScraps Praise Team
I hope and pray that no members of our Gingerscraps family have been impacted by the horrible event that happened in Las Vegas in recent hours.

Crazy! Vegas is so close to where I live, and so many of us here know someone who was at the festival. My niece, Madi has a friend whose sister was shot in the stomach. My friend's granddaughter was at the festival with her boyfriend's family and the father was shot. The grandson of a friend from high school was shot and is having surgery on his arm right now. My brother Dave's friends, Bryan and Ben were performers there. A neighbour child my kids grew up with, her boyfriend was a bartender at the festival. My daughter, Karen's friend, Emily, took pics from backstage there the night before. My boss could not get from his hotel to airport because streets were blocked off. It makes me a little sick. Karen was in Cancun last year when the Playa del Carmen shooting happened just down the street.

Just to to be clear, I have not been personally affected. None of my friends or family were there or injured, it just feels very near and is a reminder how very quickly tragedy can happen and to hold your family and friends close. One day you may have them and the next not.

And i cannot help but think of the mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, sons, daughters, and other family and friends who are broken hearted today.

My son was at the concert on Saturday but went home that night to St. George. When another son called and asked if I had heard from him my heart sank for awhile until I contacted him and found out he was okay. I am saddened by the lose and how quickly it can hit. Prayers to all those who were affected.

oh Lynnie, I'm sorry for all those you know who were directly affected. My heart goes out to all those who are affected.

Oh dear, it just brings it all a little closer doesn't it when someone you knew or knew of suffered injury or were there and couold potentially have suffered injury.

"And i cannot help but think of the mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, sons, daughters, and other family and friends who are broken hearted today" from Lynnie. I feel the same. I just cannot imagine the horror and grief.

This was such sad news to wake up to. What in the world is going on with all this violence! Seems worse than ever lately! My heart also goes out to all of those affected by the senseless acts of this disturbed individual.
