Journaling

I am using photo shop elements and would like to learn how to make my text box follow a shape. I see templates that have journal boxes do this.

Can anyone direct me to a tutorial for this. All I have been able to find is making my journaling follow a shape. but I want to make my btext box follow a shape.

Thanks for the help

I watched a video and figured out how to do this at one point, but it was honestly a huge pain and I've now forgotten how. A while back I ran across a store which had text paths you could buy in different shapes, so you just open it up in PSE and type! Any of our fine GS designers want to make us some text paths to make our lives easier?!?

Yes, I'm a little silly...but I wanted to make sure something like the example below is what you meant:

I think she means that the text shape will wrap around an object on the layout. Like if you have flowers on an edge, the journaling won't disappear under, but wrap around. I did it in Survivor this year... Although I now can't remember exactly how I did it. LOL

That's exactly what I had in mind, JoyLynn! I can always add extra spaces so my journaling doesn't disappear under the flower, but the general shape takes me quite a while to figure out (then you just forget anyway, so it was just a waste!).

I've looked at this at another store, but would rather buy from our rockin' designers at GS:

If you cannot locate a text path shape you are looking for, simply go to Custom Shapes . Drag out a shape on a new layer. Or use the polygonal lasso tool[L] to create your shape. Then edit >fill.
Type on a different layer.
Just pay attention to where you are typing. Sometimes you have to do it a line at a time to get the 'fit' you want.

That does indeed sound like a wonderful plan, Joylynn, LOL

Thanks for the video link Sarah, I need to try that out more.

I always try to include the shape still as a text path in our templates - so its easier for the users! :)

Hmm - if JoyLynn doesn't jump on this and make the paths, I totally could! Looks fun! :)
