Is your State Opening Up?

Are the Coron-acations ending for anyone?

I'm a SAH and Homeschooling Mom so that hasn't changed much, but hubby is now going to work 1 day a week. We're starting to see the end of the tunnel...prayers it all works out!

Long Island is in the first phase of re-opening. I think New York City is the only part of New York that hasn't met the requirements yet to open.

I went back to work at Panera today. It was a little busier than I expected. We have to wear masks and gloves for our full shift, changing glove often. Wearing the mask all day wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. We only had to tell one customer that he needed as mask to enter which I thought was pretty good. People are following the "rules."

But, oh, my aching legs! I've had problems with my legs and knees for a while. After having a miniscus surgery, now my other knee is starting to hurt from compensating! And I'm out of water pills which isn't helping the leg pains. I do have a doc appointment tomorrow to get refills.

Now I remember why I like the library job so much better. I'm off my feet more! I don't know why the library isn't opening yet. It is possible to do curbside pick up! I don't know whether we are supposed to open in phase 2 or 4!

Our area is slowly moving foward. A few stores are now open but most are still closed. Grocery stores are still under stocked. Parks and outdoor areas are still mostly closed. Police drive around the area in ATVs looking for groups to disperse. We live along a river so lots of parties going on with large groups on wkends when the weather is good so they have to be patrolled and warned. I stay away on the wkend, only walking the river during quieter hours during the wk. I went to the mall for something at the drugstore and it was kind of freaky to see it all shut down except for a few stores. Most of our restaurants are closed but some of the drive-through fast food places are open. I think over the next 2-3 wks there will be more places re-opening but with social distancing measures in place. I am not going to get out there much for awhile, I'll play it safe and stick close to home for now.

It's scary and eerie out there. It seems there is no rhyme or reason as to why one store is open and another is not. Some places are so deserted and others are so "busy".

I started back at Panera today. We had 9 employees on. We had spurts of being busy. I don't think the employees did a good job of social distancing, but we really can't at times. We all wore masks and gloves.

I live in northern Indiana and we are in Stage 3 until June 13th. As a whole the numbers of COVID-19 are dropping in Indiana, but in my county they have more than tripled in the past 3 weeks and in fact the New York Times recently listed our county as #10 in the next major outbreak! :36_1_10:
I am in no rush to jump back into large crowd of people right now so am slowly easing back into things.
Both hubby and I had been working exclusively from home, but he is back full time and I am 2 day at home and 2 days in the office.

Here is what is still closed for us.
WHAT REMAINS CLOSED• Playgrounds• Overnight youth camps• Bars and nightclubs• Cultural, entertainment, and venues• Amusement parks, water parks, and tourism sites• Festivals, fairs, and parades• K-12 buildings, facilities, and grounds closedfor school-sponsored education, sports, and other activities through June 30; day careat school facilities encouraged to open• Movie theaters

Florida is moving forward. We've been out to eat supporting local restaurants. I've been quite impressed with how they are handling things. When in a store which is rare...we wear masks and stay socially distanced.

I've gotten my nails done and my hair cut. At both, I felt fine.

My grandson has had un-official baseball practices. It's the dads and the boys way spread out working together. There are times, the boys are closer together but they move and spread a lot.
We've attended those, and keep an ok distance.

I'm not big on crowds anyhow.

Illinois seems to be opening up, at least my part of it. I'm not sure what stage we're in, but it seems like more stores and restaurants are opening up. People are still wearing masks and social distancing (I think). I haven't been out in public for almost a week.

Our state is entering Phase 2, which pretty much opens up everything at reduced capacity except for casinos, strip clubs, and brothels. Yes, they enumerate them! LOLOLOL

I am in NYC and have been in my apartment since the first week in March. It's been very hard. My city is forever changed. We have a tentative date of June 8 but I am not optimistic as we are still seeing cases. The rest of NY State has opened and some parts have moved to phase one. There are area's with a smaller population. But with 8 million people living in NYC it's not going to be easy to open up.

At this point I am concerned that we will even have schools open in September... I am thankful that I can work from home during this time as my company is awesome.

I tried to send you a private message but your mailbox is full. I live on Long Island not far from where. Where do you live in NYC.
