....a fan of the TV series The Good Doctor? I love love it!!! It has recently appeared on TV here and we are getting two episodes a week, probably to fit it in within a ratings timeframe, but I'm certainly not complaining, it means I don't have to wait so long for my next fix! The young Dr. is so endearing, the relationship he had with his young brother is so heartwarming and special, his childhood so heartwrenching. All of the acting performances are natural and believable...total fan here:)

I like it too! Such an amazing concept that a boy with autism is a doctor savant. I don't like the bloody scenes in the operating room though. We are up to episode 7 here on the East Coast. Are you getting more episodes with 2 a week? Also, do the commercials bother you? They seem to be about 5-7 minutes long and come one about every 10 minutes. Anyway, it's a
good show.

I am TOTALLY in love with it!!! I have loved Freddie Hightower since the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Finding Neverland movies with Johnny Depp. I had many autistic students during my years as an elementary school librarian and just like any other student I had, there was not one single one alike. The mannerisms, not understanding humor or sarcasm, lack of eye contact, the way he walks with his hands clasped are totally spot on from what I have witnessed in students. I absolutely LOVE the show and am so happy to see autism being addressed as someone who can be brilliant and not as a handicap, but as a challenge. I love the way he visualizes the functioning of the human body, brilliant production from my perspective. I also think because he's an executive producer as well, he really has a vested interest in making it believable. Commercial annoy me anyway LOL which is why I love having a DVR. I read somewhere that they ordered more episodes which I think is good news.

We will be viewing episodes 5 and 6 this week so apparently it started a little later here in Australia than for you. I don't mind the ads, it gives me time to go to the loo, make a cuppa, comment on some LOs, work in photoshop, talk to my husband:D

I didn't know all that background info Jeanne but I totally agree with everything you said.

I love it! Being a nurse, I love "most" medical shows (the ones that focus on actual medical stuff and not on the characters all "hooking up"). I wasn't sure I would love Shaun at first, but he is amazing! This is one of my absolute favorite shows!

Wow, yay, a nurse who likes medical shows! I have a friend, a nurse, who is all "that's ridiculous" "they'd never do that" "that wouldn't happen", but yet will watch ridiculous sitcoms.

I never saw the Bates Motel show, but it's so refreshing to see a child star navigating a successful journey to adult roles unlike the Macaulay Culkans of the industry.

I get my second fix for the week tonight!! The previous episode was the one where a young boy looking exactly like Dr Murphy's deceased brother presented at the hospital...the last few minutes of the show were SO tearjerking!!!

I'm watching! I was amazed by Freddie Highmore in Bates Motel so I was glad to see he had a new show. The Good Doctor is GREAT!

Total fan of the show too! We tape it and watch it as a family. Funny coincidence but we were just talking about this show with my students today. Hope they are filming more episodes !
